"Yea, well... Truth be told, I should look like you by now. Such is both the blessing and curse of Rainbow Fusion; It halts aging fully, but when it leaves you, all the time speent with it comes rushing right back, and you age in seconds as you would with years. But... I... I underwent a Trial of Blood." Even Canto's book had to tell of that much; Trials by Blood were the harshest and most deadly tests any ninja or samurai could under take, EVER. Only once in a life time could the Trail be done, for death is the punishment for failing. But any who lived gained something of Rainbow ranked power and value, from enchanted stones to items born from the Rainbows themselves.
Reaching into the scarf still around his neck, reguardless that he was wearing jeans, boots and a modern shirt and vest, he produced a shineing pendent. It looked almost like a tear drop, but frozen into a prisim. It shined the Rainbow's seven colors as the light passed through it, before he spoke. "Time hasn't been kind to you Karma, so when I passed the Trial, I recived n honnor few others have gained; I was able to enter the place the true Rainbows dwell; Fire, Water, Light, Earth, Wood, Thunder, Wind, Moon and Sun... For passing my trial, they told me I may ask anything of them and have it be granted as a reward for my trial."
Closeing his eyes, he continued, fighting back the sheer emotion simply being among the Rainbows brought in him. "I told them of your misfortunes, and asked you be given back your time lost to grief. They created this pendent, saying that so long as you wore it, you'd age as slowly as I do, your prime restored. Heh, I am too pure for my own good as the Fire Rainbow said. Even though you had another, I still wanted you happy... I... I leave it to you if you want this gift or not."

Karma listened silently as he told her of his Trial by Blood, but she couldn't look him in the eye while he spoke. While Dark was going through all these tests, all these life threatening ways to prove his honor and purity, saving the world even, Karma had been doing what? Lying. Deceiving. Making pacts with evils for quick solutions to problems she got herself into in the first place. Karma lived much too passionately, and suffered from her namesake much too greatly, and because of both she had ruined not only her own life, but also Koals and quite possibly her daughters.
"My life was not exactally a series of misfortunes Dark." She lifted her eyes up finally to look at him. "My life has been a series of bad choices, and the punishment for those choices. Your leaving me with no word was punishment for my not being completely honest with you, things that have happened since then were punishment for bad choices in the past, and now my divorce and all the unhappiness that has come with that has been from bad choices I have made."
"I appreciate your concern and your thoughtfulness, but I really don't deserve this." And when she said she didn't deserve it she was right. Karma was completely convinced that she wasn't done paying for past sins, that her rule of getting back more than she gave out (in whatever form, negative or positive) was what was keeping her from happiness far after she had attoned for her sins, and that she hadn't done anything worthy enough of negating them.
Pushing the pendant and his hoofs back towards his chest, Karma frowned, "you should probably find someone who will treat you better than I have to give this to."

"No can do. The Light Rainbow kinda tried talking me out of it Karma, but I still think your most deserving of this. Honestly, I don't give a da*m what your past sins are, Karma; I much rather shoulder your sin with you, than see you suffer alone. My grandfather once told me something. He said that 'Great sins will have their toll on one whom has taken time to blindly stack them up while looking for short ways out of their problems. But that sin is nothing when faced with rightousness and purity, for that is love in it's true self. True love can't exist as ether pure nor sinful, so it seeks to ease the pain of sins with the purity of compasion.' I never understood it before, but I do now, more than ever."
Smileing playfuly, he picked fun at her. "Besides, you think I was always as pure as I am now? I did some redeeming of my own to overcome my inner flaws and demons; And look at me now! I've reclaimed the honnor of my people, set my family's souls to rest, I carry on in Shade's place to better the world from being crushed by evil utterly, I've survived the Trail of Blood... But what matters most is that I'm with the one mare that I know, deep down to my very core that lets me exist, is the only one I want to spend my life with, and would gladly throw my life away again for if that was her wish. For friends, I'd die to protect them. For you, I'd die a million times over if that was your wish. I still love you, Karma, and I never have stoped."
Yes, he was more bold and confident, but his true feeling were now able to shine through as brightly as the full moon's light. He'd do anything for her, sholder all her sin alone by himself, slaughter entire armies, even dare fight agiesnt the Rainbows themselves for her. And unknown to him, his father's ghost watched him from afar with his mother. "True love like that is rare, Sakura... I couldn't be any more proud of my son. He's grown so much... He reminds me of us." Sakura, Dark's mother, smiled at Black, his father and her husband. "Yes, he has grown so much, Black. He reminds me of you, sneaking away from his duties to see the one he loves. I know he'll do well." Black nodded, gazeing with utter pride of his son. The knowledge that his son surpassed him... That was his greatest honor of all.

Tears shone in gray eyes at Karma listened to Dark. He had gone through all that (she could see the scars in his aura) and when the Rainbows had asked him what he wanted - anything he wanted - he had asked for her.
As the tears spilled over, Karma wrapped her forlegs around Dark and buried her face in his neck. She would have to tell him sooner or later, whether he said he cared about it or not, but she thought perhaps today was not that day.
"I still love you Dark," she whispered into his neck, afraid that if she looked him in the eyes that she would collapse in guilt and shame and grief.

Dark said nothing but gently stroked her neck, easeing her sarrow and pain away with his compasion. He kept telling her that he'd never fail on his promise again, that he'd remain by her no matter the cost or the pain he'd suffer, if it simply ment being there for her. Her past ment little to him, no matter how bad; He just wanted to help ease that suffering best he could. When she calmed down, he walked with her back to Bella and Canto's home. He planed to say his goodbyes in this short time, but Karma needed him. With premission from Bella, he rang up the dojo. "Astral Dojo, Sensei Kenshin speaking..." Dark slaped his forhead as he yelled into the phone. "KENSHIN! YOUR HOLDING THE PHONE UPSIDE DOWN!!"
In Ponyvile, Kenshin looked at the recerver and grined sheepishly. "Um... Sorry, Dark. I'm still tech challenged as Ratchet put it. So when are you coming back?" Dark shook his head calmly. "Give me three days, Kenshin. I'll be home four days from now." The red stallion nodded before hanging up. Dark must have a good reason... In a short while, he set up a tree bed outside so Canto wouldn't need to clear a space. Three days with Karma was certainly what he felt would give her enough time to tell him everything. He wanted to help her, but to do so, he needed to know what knawed at her soul.

Karma felt relief in a cooling blue wash over her as Dark didn't ask right away what had happened. He was going to stay with her this time and she could tell him when she was ready. (We gotta jump to spring so I can get Karma over to the nursery and Kail here - wanna just say that she told him before the three days were up? I don't feel like writing all that crap out anyways )
