"I hate to sound like a sappy retreat-leader, but maybe we should all find summat wrong with ourselves at the moment. What do they say at those help groups? The first step to change is admitting you have a problem. Eh?"
At this point, the masculine mare stood up, and with the cheesiest grin, spoke, "My name's Coon Skin, and I'm an alcoholic."
She grinned pointedly awaiting any chuckles. "...."
"Ok, how about gorgeous mares, my one true weakness?"
Her smile faulted, "Meh, tough crowd."
Her bottom lowered back down to the wooden floor, but not at all finished with what she was to mention.
"I'll have to disagree with this whole verify actions with others bit." Her face was scrunched in a skeptical fashion. "Look, I know from experience that when opportunity knocks, you've gotta answer."
Her golden eyes landed on Kail, not in an accusing note, but clearly to use as an example. "Sure, Princess here may have been reckless, but that's notta say that it wasn't worth what happened."
Closing her eyes, and nodding to herself, she added, "If it gets down to the wire to get the locket back, do you think any of you'll have time to tell another what the plan is?"
Of course, when Coon said "any of you," she had meant herself or the pirates. Not that the thief didn't have faith in the champions, she'd seen what they were capable of. But what other purpose would they have sprung her from jail for?
"It's not that you shouldn't tell others what you might be doing, but I'm just saying, you have to prepare for events when you've got a chance to take. It's just not logical to expect and trust everyone to "report to mommy" every time they've got to run off."
