(con. from the resturant thread)
Munchy huffed with each new step, a sweat had started long ago. However, her eyes kept focused on the prize a head. A place to swim. Though, the over weight mare doubted she would have the energy to swim when she got there, though.

Firefly pranced along happily, navy mane and tail blowing gently in the breeze. Occaisionally, when the wind picked up slightly, the pegasus would open her wings and catch a breeze for a few steps, then touch back down gently to the earth again. She gazed up at the sky, as if seeing an old friend. Firefly noticed a cloud shaped almost like a ring, and grinned.
"Hey, Munch, do you see that?" The sharp-eyed pegasus asked her friend. "I think I'm gonna go catch it before it goes away.. hold on a second?"

Munchy gazed up and almost didn't see what Firefly was talking about. However, she recognized the onion ring shape and liked her lips. "Please do, go catch it.," she grinned.

Firefly grinned ear to ear, then reared and galloped a short distance before expertly leaping into the air and soaring up into the sky. She spun a few times as she neared the ring-shaped cloud, then peaked and dove through it, turning side-circles rapidly. Once she centered again, still on the downward dive, she pulled up and looped upside down, and continued her descent. She headed straight toward Munchy, navy tail barely brushing her friend's ears before looping up again to land gracefully about ten feet in front of the yellow mare.
"Whew! What a rush!" Firefly tossed her head and grinned, then motioned for Munchy to continue along their walk.

Munchy looked back to her friend wide eyed and short of breath. "I'll say!" Munchy knew Firefly had a habit of zooming dangerously close to walking ponies, and she should have expected it, but it still scared her silly.
She tried her best to pick up her pace to cover the distance between them.

It wasn't long before the pool and waterfall came into sight. As they crested a small hill, Firefly stopped at its peak, looking toward the cool water. She waited a moment for Munchy to catch up.
"Hey, see any handsome lifeguards?" She asked cheerfully.

Munchy reached the top, sweat dripping off her sides, hooves dragging. She panted, catching what little breath she could. Half heartedly, her green eyes darted below to the water. Not really trying all that hard, she quickly gave up. Besides, it was much easier to see when you were up close to them. "Nah, you?"

"Not yet," Firefly sighed. She purposefully paused a few more moments, until Munchy caught her breath. "You know, last time we came along here, you wouldn't even climb the hill with me," She smiled, "Good job."
Firefly then started down the hill toward the pool, picking up a slow trot on the downward trek.

Beaming with the slight pride, Munchy held her head high with the biggest smile she could put on it. "Why, thank you my good friend.," she said in a fake wealthy sounding voice.
She began to walk over the peak and to take her time and care on the way down. Last thing she wanted was to trip and roll down, squishing some unfortunate foal.

With a devilish glance back at her friend, Firefly cantered ahead, and leapt effortlessly into the air again. She flew up to the top of the waterfall, and stood on a large rock jutting out at the top of the cliff. By the time Munchy got to the water's edge, Firefly was ready to dive in.

Munchy barrelled on down, seeming to pick up acceleration because of the hill and her mass. Not much to anyone's surprise, she easily fell into the water unable to stop herself from the way down.
She came to the top, gasping at first, but laughing soon after. "Jump! Jump! Jump!"

Firefly grinned, loving the attention and the spotlight. She pretended to jump a few times, just to tease her onlookers. Somewhere in the back of her mind, an old voice surfaced:
"That looks awfully dangerous.. don't do it, Firefly!"
Ah, a phrase she'd heard far too many times. It tugged at her heart for a moment that Medley, once her partner in crime, was no longer around. The pink pegasus, not wanting to dare to believe she was dead, reasoned that Medley was just somewhere else... alive.
Then, with a swoosh of pink wings, Firefly stepped off the cliff and soared around the front of the waterfall and behind it, then burst through it, flipping forward and finally landing in the water with a cannonball splash. Surfacing and spitting water like a fountain, Firefly laughed and paddled over to Munchy.
"Couldn't wait for me, could you?" She grinned.

Munchy clapped and whistled. "I give you a...." she paused purposefully, "9.3! Nah-a 10!"
One thing was good about swimming and Munchy. She didn't have to put forth much effort to float, as fat tended to float naturally. Effortlessly, Munchy remained boyant and playfully splashed the other while darting her eyes for the life guards.

"Thank you, thank you," Firefly grinned, flipping a wet piece of forelock out of her face. Being made mostly of muscle, Firefly had to continually tread water, her soaked wings making it even more difficult to float. While Munchy was looking around for some stallions to admire, Firefly paddled closer to her quietly, put her muzzle underwater, and suddenly blew a large strain of bubbles.

Munchy's ear turned as new sounds touched it, while the other stood attention to solid ground. She was well aware that Firefly was snorting bubbles. Giving up the search for a momeny, the yellow mare flipped over and made a playfull swip to the other.
