((You're welcome! )) Pippi noticed the snotty.....ahem.....white mare trotting past the captain. The purple mare wrinkled her nose a bit. She already hated Birdie. Of course, Birdie was never as strong as Pippi. Pippi was the strongest female pirate on the ship, and everyone knew this was true. The purple mare always showed off her strength to others, and it sometimes would impress the stallions. The purple mare knew that Birdie never really even tried to be stronger than Pippi, because there was no challenge. The cheerful mare turned back to the patch of quicksand, wondering if that unicorn would ever come back out. She waited........

[Haha. This could be fun... I love my characters having enemies. ] Bridie shot Pippi a dirty look. Yes, it was true that Pippi was stronger than Bridie, but to be on a pirate ship brute strength didn't account for everything... You need to be cunning, devious, and you need to have connections... And those three things were what Bridie had, and what Pippi didn't have. Pippi and Bridie were certainly going to be battling it out for top female pirate...

Pippi waited and waited, but the unicorn never appeared. The purple mare sighed. Pippi gave Bridie a dirty look back. She still thought the white mare was a snotty b*tch. But Pippi knew that she was better, so she decided not to waste her time argueing with a snotty spoiled brat. The purple mare turned away from the stupid white mare, and waited for the unicorn to come out of the quicksand. ((Oops, I guess I got her name wrong. Heh ))

[I'll say it again... the name is 'Bridie'. BRY-DI. Not Birdie. Good lord. EDIT: Okay, thanks for changing it Angel!]
Dissapointed that Pippi didn't say anything (d**n, and she was in the mood for a fight too!) she said quietly to the captain, "I'm in the mood for a little kink... I'll see you later..." She continued on down the boat, away from the rest of the pirates.

The purple mare watched as the snotty mare trotted away. Good, she left. She thought to herself. She really was annoyed by that stupid mare. She could feel herself burn in anger inside as the white mare was near. Pippi sure was glad that she had left, or Pippi would've thrown her overboard! Hey, it would've been way to easy, since Pippi was strong.

Tiger watched with annoyance and a bit of concern as the unicorn dove head first into the small quicksand pit. Now, he didn't really care about the mare, that wasn't it, but if she was gone, then what the heck was he going to do to the blasted sand pit in the middle of his deck? He cursed under his breath. And just when he had got the ship fixed up, too.
His glowering was interrupted by Bridie's tail brushing on his leg, and his eye was caught by the swishing motion of her gait. Well, now, if there was a true mare on this ship, is sure was Bridie. She had all the right equipment in the right place, so to speak. Of course, as the Captain, Tiger couldn't very well drool after her openly, but he couldn't help a wandering eye as she stopped near by.
He did notice the looks of pure fire and flintstone between the two mares, Pippi and Bridie, however. That got him a bit concerned and he decided to keep an eye on the two of them. The reason he was happy to have Pippi on the ship was because of her enormous strength, and he wouldn't dream of kicking Bridie off, so the two of them had better sort it out. He wasn't about to have any disruption on the ship just because two mares couldn't be civil to one another.
"I'm in the mood for a little kink... I'll see you later..."
Bridie's whisper got hot blood rushing into Tiger's head and he very nearly turned and walked right after her, but then he stopped himself and glanced back at the quicksand. He couldn't very well leave that there and go have fun with her. For a few moments he hesitated, then he trotted over to Bridie before she vanished.
"I'll have to sort this out here, Bridie," he said to her, hoping she wouldn't think he was blowing her off. Goodness, he would never blow her off. But she ought to be used to him referring to his captain's duties - ah, though sometimes he would've traded them away anytime for a little time to stop and tumble with her. "Where're you going, I can meet you there."

The pretty white mare knew that Pippi hated her, and this pleased her. To know that she had succeeded in p*ssing off a female shipmate was good news to her.
Bridie was also happy to see that she was being joined by Sea Tiger. She winked at him, before looking across the boat to where Pippi was, and giving her a 'look-at-me-I'm-hangin-with-the-captain-and-you're-not' look.
"Where're you going, I can meet you there."
"Oh..." Bridie-Lee said sweetly. "There's an inn somewhere around here." Bridie waggled her tail a little. "I'm sure we could get a room... I'll meet you there..."

Tiger grinned. An inn sounded nice.
"Sure," he said and nodded. "I'll come as soon as I've got this... sand business out of the way."
He glowered at the patch of quicksand. Then he flashed another smile to Bridie, winked and trotted back to the quicksand patch. He took care not to step into it. Instead, he stopped at the very edge and strained his neck to look down into the sand. Honestly, he didn't know what to do. He might be considered the brave captain who dove in to save one of his crewmembers if he went after the mare, but he might also be considered as the dumbest captain in the world to get lost into a quicksand patch on his own deck. He decided to either send someone else instead or fetch a rope somewhere to throw in. Then a thought crossed his mind.
"Pippi!" he said to the mare standing conveniently close by. Tiger had learned in his time of scrubbing the deck that one should never stand conveniently close to the captain unless one wanted extra jobs - but obviously not all of Tiger's crewmembers had yet learned this. He looked at the mare with a frown. "Go below deck right under this patch and see if you can find that silly unicorn. I want to know if this patch is a portal or simply a hole through the deck." His gaze grew sterner and more threatening. "And if it is a hole, she had better see that she doesn't make more of them anywhere on my ship."

((Yeesh - I'm offline for like 12 hours and all this happens! A girl's gotta sleep - and you're lucky I'm home from school sick or it would've been longer!))
Although she was about 10 feet below deck(for the patch of quicksand was somewhat of a portal, as the captain had predicted), Quicksand could hear everything going on above her.
And the mare wasn't nervous about the situation, either. Making her way through the quicksand was about as easy as she'd imagined ordinary swimming to be - that is, the quicksand was about as easy to move around in as water.
Hmm...either this stuff's absolutely no threat or it's just me... The unicorn was a bit claustrophobic, so lucky for her she was also able to open her eyes without getting sand in them - and she happened to be able to see ahead of her very clearly, as if the sand was transparent.
Soon Quicksand saw the barrel that had sunk awhile ago. While this had mostly been an experiment of her powers, the mare had always intended on bringing the thing back up. She "swam" towards it with ease, grabbed hold, and kicked off for the surface.
"Pippi! Go below deck right under this patch and see if you can find that silly unicorn. I want to know if this patch is a portal or simply a hole through the deck."
"No need!", Quicksand called almost cheerily as she surfaced. Then she gasped for air - the whole experience had been so interesting she hadn't even noticed that she'd been holding her breath for several minutes. Oh yeah - part sea pony. That must have something to do with it.
The mare heaved the barrel up and out of the quicksand as she effortlessly climbed out of the patch of earth herself. Then she waved a hoof to make the quicksand vanish completely, tossed her mane, sending sand flying across the deck, and looked at the captain.

When the unicorn emerged from the sand with the missing barrel, Tiger wasn't sure if he should have begun to yell at her for being so reckless or be happy that she was back without any further complications. He glowered at her for a moment.
"Good," he said with a harsh voice. "Now that you're back, make sure you don't do that again on the ship. A power like that would be useful in a fight, but it isn't good for pranks."
[[*sigh* Is what you get when you do something a bit tired. This is like the hundredth edit within the last five minutes.]]

((Ack! You all post too fast! This reminds me of my RPG, everyone would post fast, lol!))
Pippi watched as the captain talked to Bridie. She then noticed the 'look' Bridie gave Pippi. Pippi didn't care if the white mare was hanging with the captain. As long as Pippi would be able to have fun when they were sailing, then she was happy. And she couldn't wait to feel the sea breeze in her mane. And she did love to sing as well. And she had a beautiful voice.
The purple mare's attention suddenly turned to the captain when he spoke to her. Pippi nodded. "Ok." She replied.
But just then, she noticed that the unicorn had finally appeared! Pippi jumped back to give the mare some space. After the unicorn spoke, Pippi looked at her. "Well, now. I see you've finally decided to come back out of there! I noticed you dived in that patch of quicksand earlier, so I came over here to see what was going on." The mare said to the unicorn. "I'm Pippi, Pippi Longstocking. What would your name be?"

Quicksand's eyes widened. Pranks? I was just trying to show him...okay, I was showing off. "Oh - that's right sir. Sorry sir." Then she turned to Pippi, and tried to keep from sounding defeated. "Hi - my name's Quicksand..." The mare turned to where the quicksand had been and blushed slightly. But wait - hadn't the captain said that she couldn't use her powers again like that on this ship? She spun around a little more quickly than she'd intended to and blinked at Tiger. "Does - does this mean I can join your crew?"

A large muscular stallion had paused in his work at the top of the loading ramp to watch the newest drama with interested jade eyes. So far, this was proving to be one of the most interesting crews he had joined. Cutter swished his short, partially leather-bound tail, trying to hide his excitement over whatever their next voyage would be.
As Bridie sauntered by, despite the stallion's respect, or rather, tolderance for mares, Cutter arched his neck forward and nudged her flank, eyes somewhat dark and mischievious. One corner of his mouth twitched. No words were needed between the two, and he soon noticed her continue on her way.
The black and gold-haired stallion glanced skyward for a moment, noticing that the day was, inevitably, stretching on. It wasn't late, but there was still much to do before the ship could sail. Cutter's crimson coat had acquired a shiny sheen from the sweat of doing such physical work. With heavy, thunking steps on the wooden loading ramp, Cutter descended to continue with his job. He knew that a pony who worked well for his captain was often rewarded, even in the slightest of ways.

Quicksand found herself distracted by many things - after all it was her first time on a real pirate ship. So now her gaze wandered to the muscular red stallion loading up the ship.
Two things struck her about him - the first was how hard he seemed to be working, and the second was how - well - mean he looked. Intimidating was more the word, but nonetheless the stallion had definitely made it onto her list of people to be careful around.
Oh Quicksand, what did you expect? This is a pirate ship for crying out loud! You aren't going to run into the nicest people on board, and you are going to have to work hard! The unicorn was frustrated with her own ignorance, but she was very nervous. ...But will I be able to work that hard?
