Tiger stretched his strong body and shook his mane. He had had a bad day. It had taken him ages to decide on where he wanted to take his ship, and by the time he had, he decided it was too late to start off. He didn't like setting sail too close to the night. It was always that much more likely to run into reefs that usually surrounded the shorelines. So he had given his crew a free day and went to get some sleep in his cabin.
Now he had been sleeping for so long, however, that he wanted to move about a little, so he left his cabin and walked out to the main deck. He trotted off to the railing and looked out to the other ship still floating close by. He had a bad feeling about that ship for some reason, and he frowned thoughtfully as he stared out at it. There he forgot himself for a while.

Heavy hoofbeats clopping against the wooden deck of the ship may have gone unnoticed by seemingly entranced captain. The large red stallion wordlessly approached the same side of the rail, an audible distance from Tiger. Cutter's relaxed emerald eyes gazed seaward as he exhaled heavily into the nearing night air. The soft breeze lifted his black and gold mane slightly, and played with the frayed ends of the leather which bound part of his short tail. He glanced sideways to Sea Tiger slowly; It wasn't long before his gaze followed that of his captain.
"Methinks I feel the same as ye, Tiger.." He said in a low, quiet voice that seemed to float in the sea air. "I wouldn't fall short a half-step o'the idea that ship may be trouble yet."

Tiger was startled into awareness of the other stallion only by his voice, and he smiled to his second mate, one of his gruff smiles.
"Aye," he said. "It looks like a pirate ship to me. And two pirate ships on the same port..." He shook his head and pushed himself off the railing, clopping a nervous hoof on the deck. "Ain't good. We'll be leaving early in the morning," he said. "Whatever it is those guys are up to here, I don't think it's nothing good, and I rather won't stick around to be blamed for it."

As the two stallions talked, Bridie was asleep in her bed. She had sweet talked Tiger into giving her the second-best quarters on the ship, or she liked to think that anyways, since what she really had done is barricaded herself in this room until everyone had given up trying to coax her out. Blue eyes fluttered open. She yawned and sat up, and slowly ambled over to her mirror. Of course, it was the biggest mirror she would get her pure white hooves on. She smiled as she looked at herself, as she looked pretty even when she had just woken up. She applied eyeliner and brushed her hair - It was straight today - and once again fixed a frangipani in her hair. She had a small frangipani tree growing in a pot in her room, but it was starting to get a little too big and soon she would have to move it to a bigger pot. Bridie-Lee put on her favourite bandana, the pink one adorned with feathers and beads, and straped a dagger around her foreleg. She was ready for the day. Of course, she had no idea what time it was because it was quite dark in her room (She liked it with the lights off. ) and she had no clock. She had slept all day - Well there was nothing else to do. -- "Hello boys." Said a sweet voice, as the white mare came up from below. "What's the plan for today?"

Tiger smiled over to Bridie and nudged a meaningful head towards the darkening sky.
"I'd say this day is pretty much spent, love," he said playfully while very much admiring the view - and he wasn't looking at the landscape. "But if you're feeling up to it, us stals could find a few jars of ale somewhere and see which one of us drops first, while you dance for us a little, doll." He grinned wide at Bridie, quite certain she'd do nothing of the kind, and then nudged Cutter. "I bet you five coins I can drink you under the table anytime."

"Oh ho, a drinking contest, eh?" Gan Ning was lifted from the water by a geyser as he steped onto the deck, his entire body completly drenched. He was serious about a swim, and spent most of the blasted day out in the deeper waters. Part of controling water also ment filtering air from it, so Gan Ning could breath underwater as easily as a Sea Pony. Drowning him was like calling Cutter a coward to his face and expecting to live afterwards; It aien't gonna happen. He hefted a water soaked leather pouch he took with him on all his dives, and grined.
"Found a shipwreak full of gold coins and clams. Sadly, the coins are useless since most have been plastered to a few cannonballs. So..." Looking to the water, two half gold plated cannon balls were left to roll onto the deck as Gan Ning opened the pouch, the thing briming with pearls. "I did the next best thing and brought you guys a pair of gifts. Admit it; Without me going on these dives, we'd have to WORK to get rich!" He burst into laughter as he shook his mane dry, allowing it to naturaly puff back into it's normal spiky style.
"Not much else down there, sadly. Though I did bring a few things for Cutter and Bridie." He opened two pouches on his sack, and tossed Cutter a shark tooth the size of a foal's hoof before handing Bridie a pure silver hair clasp shaped like a dove, with a few diamonds encrusted into it. "And don't think I forgot you, Cap!" He pulled out a sealed metal tube, which after opening, reveiled a dry and readable treasure map; Gan Ning knew how much easyer it was to find loot and steal from other pirates was than raiding innocents.
Not that raids were ALL bad; It was good to scar the masses on ocation...

((Jearggh, gone for a day and I miss all this... )) Quicksand felt she hadn't gotten really anything remotely useful done in the past few hours, but she'd certainly considered herself well-occupied. She'd been staring up into the rigging, trying to figure out exactly how the ship came together, how it worked...But an afternoon of staring at ropes and pulleys and such was what the mare considered to be relaxation - a waste of time. But then, her mother had drilled it into her that reading storybooks was a waste of time too. For the past few minutes she had been overhearing(she prefered not to think of it as "eavesdropping") discussions between other members of the crew, and looked out across the horizon at mention of another ship. With a mental note to be more aware of her surroundings - she had never even noticed the other pirate ship - she turned to look up into the riggings of the ship once more, sighing with disappointment when she realized just how much she still needed to know. By the time Quicksand had come back to conscious thought she heard the voices of the entire crew at another part of the deck. She walked over where she could see them, but still stood at a bit of a distance, hoping she wasn't interrupting anything. ((Hm... another post with no dialogue. That doesn't make me feel good. Sorry about that... ))

"I'll dance." Bridie said, probably surprising Tiger by agreeing to it. Then she smirked. "The winner not only gets five coins, but I'll dance for them too." She held back from saying 'lap dance'. "But I bet that I could drink the most out of all of you!" She waggled her tail a little. "What do I get if I win?" She said greedily.

Tiger was not especially startled over Gan Ning's appearance. He'd got used to it. He grinned as he took the sealed metal tube, and opened it eagerly. When upon seeing what was inside, he grinned even more widely.
"Ach, now these kind of gifts I like to see!" he said and looked around. "Pay attention, people! This is the proper way to bribe your captain."
He grinned to Gan Ning, but was interrupted at Bridie's words. He looked at her, surprised that she should agree on dancing - and growing a little hot around the ears at the thought of some private dancing as a reward. Which was why it took him a moment to think up what to tell her when she asked what her reward would be.
"Ahh..." he then said and grinned, "how'bout a dance just for you... from the one who drops first?"

Bridie laughed and she twirled up her hair and fixed the hair clasp onto it.
"And I have the perfect skirt for you to wear when your dancing for me." She grinned evily, knowing Tiger was going to lose. Tiger was a good drinker, but she was going to make sure he lost some how. Although she was having trouble trying to stop herself from eyeing Cutter's handsome red body.

Tiger shook his head.
"Oh, no, I don't think so," he said, shaking a hoof at her. "Even if I do lose - which I won't, mind you - I won't be putting up any costumes."
[[except that by the time he will lose he will be too drunk to oppose ;D]]
He felt a pang of jealousy over the way Bridie was glancing at Cutter, and nudged at the red stallion.
"You know where all the good stuff is, Cutter," he said. "Go grab us a barrel of the best ale on the ship."
Then he glanced at the newbie standing a little ways off.
"Yo, Quicky! Got the guts to join in on a real pirates' games?" His eyes caught on a glint. "You could dance for us too."

Bridie coughed.
"She won't need to dance. She's uhh... probably too tired. It's been a big day, you know!"
Looks as if Tiger's not the only jealous pony on board... Nobody would be taking the spotlight from Bridie!

Quicksand blushed and unconsciously took a small step back at Tiger's words. Then she looked over to Bridie and said. "That's right - I...no thank you", she managed to get out.

Gan Ning walked over to Quicksand, prefering to keep away from the drinking; Alcohol had no effect on him, so he kindly stayed out to keep things fair. "Just don't forget the time she got ya to do the Macerina, Cap! You almost fell of the ship that time!" Turning back to Quicksand, the stallion grinned as the bells around his chest chimed softly in their own rythem. "You shouldn't be THAT embarised about danceing. I bet you could out dance Bridie if you put your heart into it." Opening the pouch as it still drained water from it's sides, he pulled one last thing out before he'd go store the bounty.
It was, by far, the most carefuly crafted choker ever made. The finest silk ran to the metal clasp in it's back, while a rose quartz heart, set into a silver setting, crowned the front. Pink silk was laced into the cherry red of the choker's band, smaller diamond hearts lineing it from all the way to the clasp and back to the central heart. Something of such beauty had to have only been made for a queen to be of such lasting craft; And Gan Ning had a sharp eye on what was real and what was fake. This was real, all the way. "A fitting piece for the next Princess of the Pirates. I'd call you Queen, but then Bridie would throw a cannonball at me!"
He laughed a little as he dried his tail with one, powerful flick. Since his tail was more bunched together than a normal ponys, it served him well like a beavers; If it was water logged like just then, a single blow would be like a cannon being turned just right to slam you upside your head. He sent more than one idiot that crossed this crew before to a watery grave with it,so it was understandable he took great pride in it. "Oh yea, when you get them drunk, Bridie, have them do the tango! That would be a sight worth two hundred gold AND half my pearl stock!" Lord knew how many pearls Gan Ning kept on his raids; Half he'd keep for the crew's wealth, twenty five percent to himself, and the rest to help with payments for cargo and the like.
"I wish ya luck in beatting Bridie, guys. Knowing her, it's NOT gonna be an easy task. Still, my money is on Cutter! NOBODY drinks more than him and not have to worry about poisoning!" He laughed again as he helped place the choker round Quicksand's neck.

Quicksand stared, wide-eyed, at what Gan Ning held for a moment. For me? But...I hardly know him. I shouldn't accept it. Ooh, but I like it sooo much. He wants me to have it... When the stallion fastened it around her neck she turned to him with a smile and, at little more than a whisper, said, "Thank you."
Then she realized that she had yet another reason to be thankful - the attention was, for the most part, off of her. And that was a good thing, especially considering how lame she would feel saying 'actually, I don't drink' to a crew of pirates.
