Skydancer pulled her closer and started trailing his muzzle quietly along her muzzle towards her neck. He nuzzled her by the ear, then continued trailing his muzzle down along the curve of her neck, then pushed his head into her hair, closing his eyes. His hooves were now wrapped around her, and suddenly he crouched down a little, grabbed her by the waist, just below the wings, and walked on his fours from the water, carrying her, until they were on the grass at the edge of the pool.
He placed her down on her hindlegs and, his hooves still wrapped around her upper body, he pulled his head back and looked at her, his neck arched and his ears forward, the wet rainbow locks surrounding his golden face.
We belong together, he wanted to say, but didn't dare. They had just met, and this was going too fast. She would pull away, she would say no, she would escape his hooves. Patience, he told himself, cool down.
And he found himself lost for words. Lost into her violet eyes.

Firefly quickly shoved the questioning thoughts to the back of her mind, to think about later. It wasn't an uncommon strategy for the mare. She wanted this attention, and wanted it for right now.
The pink mare half-closed her eyes, smiling in what could be considered a devilish way. Looking at him, how handsome she thought he was with his vibrant rainbow hair.. she had never been with a rainbow-haired stallion before. It was almost exotic, and tickled her as much.
Firefly leaned in teasingly close to Skydancer, nearly kissing him a few times, but pulling back just a bit each time. She chuckled softly, then finally planted a strong kiss on his lips.
Nearly as soon as she had kissed him, Firefly leapt away from him with a small, daring giggle. Before he could catch her again, she leapt up onto some of the rocks around the bottom of the waterfall.
Her eyes dared him to pursue.

Skydancer was lost. He was strongly affected by her teasing, and leaned for her each time she nearly kissed him, and when she finally did kiss him, he wouldn't have let her go. Of course, being of equal strength, she pulled off easily - and far too soon for him - and leapt away. Skydancer was rather worked up by now, and leaped after her, trying to catch her again. She leapt on the rocks, and he smirked up to her, flattening his ears in play-fight sort of manner. He read the dare in her eyes and was excited more for it.
He reared up a little and arched his neck and flashed his wings and swished his tail, all in a "look at me I'm a handsome big stallion" sort of manner, and then leapt after her on one powerful jump. If it was a chase she wanted, she'd get it.

Firefly was relishing in the moment. Her heart pounded from Skydancer's expression in his eyes, and all of it made her giddy with excitement.
She had to admit that she was both flattered and attracted by his almost primal display. It triggered something inside for her. It was then that the pegasus actually noticed his body for the first time--the strength of his muscles, the fullness of his powerful wings.
Just as Skydancer leapt after her, Firefly (wings being too wet to fly) gracefully leapt from rock to rock, smooth as if she were swimming through the air. Pieces of mane and tail flowed behind her as she reached a few rocks away and turned to look back at the stallion.

Skydancer's hooves caught hold of the rocks Firefly had stood just a moment before, though he slipped just slightly because of the water that was dripping on the rocks and making them slippery. He admired Firefly's graceful leaps away, and beat his wet wings around a little to appear bigger and more handsome himself. He grinned to her and pursued after, leaping from rock to rock like a gold and rainbow burst of energy and muscle. The sun was slowly descending beyond the hills and its golden rays painted Skydancer's coat with gold and his mane with all the brilliance of the prism that played in the foam of the waterfall. Like the sun god, touched by the Rainbow itself, he knew he would be soon when the setting sun would paint the scenery into its lush autumn colours.
His hooves, though wet still, were sure as he jumped the rocks towards Firefly.

Firefly leapt like a deer from rock to rock, seeming to be always sure of her footing and aware of where she was going. And despite her visual attraction to the stallion following her.
"Skyyyydancer!" The pegasus cooed in a sing-songy voice as she continued her elegant leaps and bounds. She chuckled slightly, almost in a giggling fasion. One thing was for sure--Skydancer was making her feel younger and more like a school filly than she had in years.
A flap of the peg's wings helped her leap to a narrow, tall rock. After batting her eyelashes at her persuer, Firefly took one last high leap into the air, disappearing behind the rock, and down into the water below.

Skydancer's eye was fixed on the pale pink mare and her wonderful navy locks as she practically glided up the rocks, and he spread his wings to catch the air beneath them and help him jump up faster. When she dove, he took one last leap up to the rock she had leapt from, and grinned fiercely.
"Arrr!" he yelled out himself, in a wild way, as he leapt after her, his wings still spread for a bigger impression. He was enjoying this chasing game with every fibre, and had no hurry for it to end.

The pink mare dove beneath the surface of the pool, and eventually to the slightly caved area behind the bottom of the small waterfall. There, she pulled herself from the water onto a flat rock, and eagerly glanced between the streams of water as best she could to see what Skydancer might do next.

Skydancer lost sight of Firefly. He didn't know of the slightly caved area behind the waterfall, nor did he see her swim there. He got up to the surface and shook water from his mane, looking around, confused. A bit suspiciously he looked down at the water, then around him, and finally even up into the air, just in case Firefly for some reason would have found a way to fly with wet wings.
But there was nothing. He frowned and swam a little circle.
"Firefly?" he asked, his ears swivelling about. He had his back to the waterfall.

Firefly grinned as she realized that Skydancer had lost her momentarily. Between the rushing of the water and the echo and reverberation into the small alcove, it was nearly impossible to hear Skydancer. However, she read his body language like a book, and he was completely unaware that she was so near. This gave her the prime opportunity to surprise him, in the least.
The pegasus shifted herself up onto her legs, and neared the back of the waterfall. Swirls of mist and water vapors tickled her nose as she leaned forward, preparing to pounce. Her muscles tensed as she crouched, tucking in her wings and edging to the end of the rock.
With one last burst of strength, the pegasus leapt through the waterfall, with just enough air time to call to Skydancer, "Gotcha!" before nearly landing on top of him.

Skydancer was caught completely off-guard by Firefly's leap, even if he had sort of expected her to jump on him somehow, somewhere. When she shouted, he was startled enough to actually turn around to look, and when Firefly landed, he fell under her, right into the water, under her hooves. He struggled up as fast as he could, and gasped for breath as he came up again. His expression was for a moment mostly shocked, then he laughed and shook water off his mane.
"My goodness!" he said, looking around searchingly. "How did you do that? Where did you come from?" He looked at her suspiciously. "You don't know how to turn invisible, do you?"
It was a very real chance. He had met many ponies in his travels, and turning invisible was really one of the simplest powers compared to some he had come across.

"How did you do that? Where did you come from?"
Firefly laughed softly, tossing her mane away from her eyes, "I was over there," She nodded her head to the place she had sprang from, "behind the falls."
"You don't know how to turn invisible, do you?"
"If I did, it wouldn't be as fun for you, now would it?" She grinned, and started swimming for the shallow end of the pool. Athletic though she was, she was growing fatigued. "Besides, I don't need need any special powers," She smirked towards him, "I'm more than most stallions can handle just the way I am."
With that, the pegasus swished her tail and stepped out of the water and onto the grass. Bracing all of her legs, she shook her whole body, sending water droplets everywhere. Then, with a tired sigh, she flopped onto the soft grass and glanced up at Skydancer.

Skydancer laughed as she explained where she had been. His eyes went towards the waterfall with an interested glint. Yes, this he needed to remember. It might do for a good joke at a future time. When Firefly swam to the shallow end and spoke. He had to grin. He was beginning to think she was quite right.
He, too, was fatigued by all the excitement of the day, however, and swam gladly after her. He waded out of the water and then shook himself as well, golden and rainbow droplets sprinkling all round. Then he smiled to Firefly and flopped down next to her, sprawling himself on the grass.
"I'm beginning to notice that," he said with a weary but good-humoured voice. He looked up at Firefly, his head lying on the grass, the usual mischievous smile on his lips. "I'd be glad to give it a try, though." He winked.

"I'd be glad to give it a try, though."
Laying partially on her side, but propped up by her forelegs with her head raised, Firefly closed her eyes and laughed softly, disbelievingly, and shook her head slightly. "Ohh, Skydancer.." She sighed, easing more relaxed into the grass, not looking at him "I know your type," the pegasus said matter-of-factly. She seemed much calmer than before, but still with her same sharp personality.
"And I'm quite a bit that way myself," She smiled, staring off to an indistinct point in space. "But I'll have you know that I do have morals," She glanced at him, raising an eyebrow to make her point. Firefly then rolled onto her back, hugging her forelegs against her chest. She breathed slowly, taking in the woods around her and the gradually darkening sky. For some reason, Medley entered her mind. He didn't stay long, however, as Skydancer soon filled that place in her conscience.
"Ah well," She said with what could possibly be disciphered as a twinge of sadness in her voice, which she covered with a laugh, "At least it's fun while it lasts, right?"

Skydancer wasn't sure how to read Firefly's expressions or her tone. He got more serious as he detected just a slight twinge of sadness in her voice towards the end, and though she gave a laugh, he flicked his ear about and looked at her with an unsmiling face.
"Yes," he said. "Fun while it lasts," he said, "but I'll have you know I don't play with feelings." He lifted his head and shook his mane again, to get the wet dripping fringe off his face. "I might pull pranks and jokes on others, but I don't do that to their hearts." He smiled now a little. "Knowing me, and guessing a bit about you, let's not make any decisions, shall we? Neither of us is the chaining type, eh? Day by day, and we'll see where we end up." He stretched his other wing and then folded it back against his body. He winked to her. "I'd still like to escort you to your cottage, though."
