Coon wasn't much of an idiot, or at least not most of the time. There were cases where she was blinded by tendencies that were more boyish than they should, but this was not true of the moment. The thief was surrounded by a bunch of pirates; her guard had to be astute. Despite Tiger being a good associate, Coon did not ever want to be on the cap's bad side. Not a wise thing in the middle of the water.
So it came to Coon's immediate attention to heed the unsaid warning that came in the tone of Tiger's distaste for the question she had asked in regards to Bridie. There wasn't any need for an interpreter. It clearly stated "Hooves Off."
Coon didn't need to be told twice. The moment Bridie had come up teasingly close, Coon made sure to smile nonchalantly and moved to a safer spot away from the gal, this time by Cutter's side. Hopefully this display would prove to Tiger she wasn't trying to make their journey any more difficult than possible. The masculine mare decided that she would just have to stiffen her resolve and reserve the right to flirt with other available Champions.
(lol, can you imagine the trouble Coon could get in trying to avoid Bridie's passes?)

"get her off the dock! We're on our way!"
The red stallions ears swiveled forward and his eyes lit upon hearing that statement. A grin stretched across white and a few gold teeth, "Aye, Cap!"
Cutter's large frame turned away from the group in a half-rear, landing loudly (as usual--how else could one land on a wooden deck with hooves the side of dinner plates?), and made for the entrance plank. Using his teeth and a series of rope handles on the sides of the plank, the strong stallion pulled it aboard. He then swung the door-like part of the railing back into the void created for the plank, so that the railing was complete, and none might accidentally fall overboard.
He then dragged the plank against the side of the railing, and tied the gangplank down via a series of ropes and hooks, so that it would be safe and secure until they again came to port.
Cutter's next task was to untie the ropes which held the ship to the dock. He undid each knot efficiently, having mastered the skill after being on a ship so much of his life. Rope after rope was tossed overboard and down onto the dock.
With the ship no longer tied to land, Cutter headed next toward the anchor wheel. The stallion sidled between two of the large horizontal poles, which came out from the large spool like spokes, and positioned himself comfortably. Then, with a swish of his short raven-black tail and a grunt, Cutter's strong legs pushed the spokes of the wheel, coiling the anchor's large chain as he walked.
The strong stallion pushed a good half dozen times around the wheel, each rotation pulling the heavy anchor higher from the water, but the cranking mechanism keeping it from slipping back in and undoing his work. Eventually, the clicking sounds ceased, and the anchor was secure on the outside of the ship.
Cutter stood a moment, beads of sweat trailing down his neck and back. His muscles pulsed, and his breath came in large puffs. Once he had caught his wind and cooled slightly, the stallion double checked the security of the anchor before signaling to Tiger that his job was completed. All that remained was for Gan Ning to lower the sails, and Tiger to take his place at the helm.
((not sure how accurate that was in terms of readying a ship to make berth, but it worked in my head, lol))

[[OOC: Whew! I had no idea Roxy was such a looker! I always imagined her as rather plain. Well, others always see us differently than we see ourselves, right? ; ) And that tinsel in her hair does sparkle...]]
Roxanne bobbed her head carefully, making sure not to look the captain too long in the eye. She wasn't sure how entangled she wanted to get, because she wasn't what anyone would call loose - although something about her personality seemed to flirt without her meaning to. But it had been a long time since she had actually been with a stallion.
"Thankee, Cap'n, we'll lay low until you can show us where to be."
And she gave him as innocent a smile as she could, and backed to the rail, jerking her head at the Champions to suggest that they follow suit.
The salt breeze flipped her braided mane about idly, and she pointed her nose seaward. The noise of Cutter and the crew readying the ship to sail filtered into her ears, and a thrilled glint came into her eye...

Gan Ning gave a nod as Cutter finished; Climbing up to the sails as quick as a spider, he came to rest just at the ropes that binded them. Useing his thick tail, he tested the wind speeds, and frowned at how little they blew. "Looks like I'll have to get us to sea before the sails do any good!" Looking at the water under the ship, Gan Ning thrust a hoof at the water, createing some gental waves to carry them out. Nodding at getting the sea to aid them once more, Gan Ning turned to the open sea.
"Gonna need a good wind for the sails to be of use." Once the port was a small dot, the wind started to cause his bells to chime, his mane and thick tail blowing on the wind. "Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Sails coming down, mind your heads!" Grabing the main rope in his teeth, the acrobatic stallion jumped from his perch, the sails following after him. As soon as he landed on the deck, the waves he made stoped as the wind filled the sails. Tieing them dow, he gave Cutter a nod. "Good to be back at see, eh Cutter?"

[[well, Roxanne, honey, let's put it this way: Tiger spends most of his time out in the sea, with very few mare contacts. Almost any mare is probably beautiful to him. Also, yes, the tinsel sparkles - and she has the whole charisma thing going, too. ]] Tiger smiled to Roxanne, following her with his eyes. From her his eyes strayed to the other mares that called themselves Champions. Kail seemed to be taken. Too bad. But the other two mares didn't look like they were... involved at the moment, or at least they hadn't brought their significant other along. Tiger hoped that all the Champion mares weren't too serious to have some fun. Well, Tiger was a ladies' stallion. He'd probably never change. From the corner of his eye he noticed that Coon had moved away from Bridie. That made him smile a bit as he turned and nodded to Cutter, who seemed to have got all of his part of the work of getting the ship off the dock done. He trotted up to the helm, to take his place there. Tiger set his large hooves on the helm and directed his eyes to the horizon, far away across the glimmering sea. A smile came over his lips and he closed his eyes for a moment as a breeze blew through his mane, caressing his light blue mane and dark blue fur. Yes, this was life indeed! As he opened his eyes again, his gaze swept over the deck, and he nodded to Gan Ning, grinning widely. There were some advantages of having magical crewmembers. Hollow followed Roxanne to the near the rail, nudging Jewel and Moon Crystal to come with him. He was assuming quite the protective attitude about the two of them. Outside the ship, Rain dashed off toward the porthole just as Cutter cut the ship loose from the port and raised the anchor. Her eyes widened as she heard and saw what was going on on the deck. They were starting off! She started flapping her wings harder. Cold shivers ran through her spine as she imagined what would happen if her mother found out that she had got Kenaz on the ship alone and then had been left on the shore herself. There was a surprising gust of wind quite suddenly, taking her off guard and blowing her off course. She was thrown against the hull of the ship, a few feet off from the porthole she had been aiming for. The ship was moving already. She scraped her hooves against the hull in a desperate attempt to fly towards the porthole despite her disoriented head. The ship was beginning to move more and more quickly. She beat her wings the best she could, until she finally managed a grip on the porthole edge. She hung there, beating her wings more, until she got her upper body halfway through the porthole, scraping her backfeet against the hull to try and wiggle through the little window. There she dangled uncertainly as the ship continued picking up speed.

Kail couldn't help but smile at Razzaroo's seriousness; it was very endearing. As he blubbered on about cabbage, she instead took a good look around the ship at both Champions and pirates. The blue stripe was already settling things as far as the captain was concerned. Which was good, as charisma would be the best at that sort of job. And better yet: she had asked what Kail had just been wanting to know! Champions seemed to have that way about them.
Nudging Razz's side, Kail headed towards the rest of the Champs near the side of the boat.

"Good to be back at see, eh Cutter?"
"Aye!" The large stallion replied heartily, a broad smile on his face. "I'd trade nothin' for it!" Cutter raised his head and took a deep breath full of the salty sea winds, which left him much pacified, with a more peaceful expression. In his content moment, he turned to Gan Ning:
"Ya know, if we needed wind, we could'a always waited until Tigey ate some'a those beans wit' a bit too much rum," The red stallion laughed briefly.
As the boat moved forward, the Indigo stripe nearly lost her balance, bracing herself against Hollow for a moment. Her legs remained a bit splayed out, and her stomach began to churn. Jewel felt slightly forlorn at seeing the port fade away, mostly because she knew this probably wouldn't be the shortest of trips out on the ocean. Why.. did it have to be a boat...?

Gan Ning burst a gut at Cutter's joke, actualy falling over; Sometimes, his youth could be a slight annoyence. "Yea, I hear ya! We wouldn't need to fish is we dunked his head in the water and let him burp then; The fish would belly up from the stench!" He continued to laught till he composed himself. "Ah, the sea. The place where guys like us can sail where we want, do what we want, and loot anyone we want; All cause we don't have laws. We make our own laws, and then BREAK them!"
He gave a firm nod as the sea air chimed his bells softly, adding a tranquil melody to the sounds of the sea. "Heh... There isn't a single day that I regreat ever being born a sailor's son, and following in his steps to join the sea going life. If I didn't, I'd never meet the two knuckle heads of a Captain and friend who are like brothers to me!" He grinned ear to ear, already knowing how he'd make his quick escape again.

Roxy couldn't suppress a happy hoot as the ship set off. She clapped the nearest Champion, Hollow, on the back as the spray of the waves misted them.
"Hoohoo! What'd'ye say, mate, d'you feel like a salty seadog?"
And with the same thrilled glint in her eye, she scrunched up one side of her face in her best sneering-pirate impression - making sure it was the side that the crew couldn't see, of course!

She hung there, beating her wings more, until she got her upper body halfway through the porthole, scraping her backfeet against the hull to try and wiggle through the little window. There she dangled uncertainly as the ship continued picking up speed.
Kenaz gasped softly, abandoning his bag to scramble over to the port hole. "Rain!" He said in a hoarse, panicked whisper. "Here--push!" He grabbed her firmly and braced himself against the deck, throwing all this weight into the pull. He did NOT want to do this all by himself!
Could he? Well yes, he could. But it wouldn't be anywhere near as fun...besides...maybe with both of them, the wrath of their elders would be divided? One could hope, anyway.

Rain's backfeet scraped against the hull, she pushed herself all she could, and fluttered her wings for more strength. Kenaz's pull helped. The wind was gusting past her, trying to throw her off again, but she was determined now, and grit her teeth. She - would - not - be - left - behind! One more push, and one more pull from Kenaz, and through she slipped. Luckily, though the porthole was small, she was sufficiently limber and tiny herself to make it through. In a bundle of silver fur and white hair she landed right on top of Kenaz. She clambered up again as quickly as she could, taking deep, short breaths.
"Are you... are you... ok?" she asked, worried that she might have hurt him on her landing.

"Ya know, if we needed wind, we could'a always waited until Tigey ate some'a those beans wit' a bit too much rum,"
"Yea, I hear ya! We wouldn't need to fish is we dunked his head in the water and let him burp then; The fish would belly up from the stench!"
Tiger frowned to that as threateningly as he possibly could, though he wasn't really as upset as he seemed. These two stallions were his best friends in the world - well, aside from Bridie, of course, but his relationship with Bridie was rather, special - and he knew they were merely joking. Just for show's sake he scowled, though.
"If I didn't need you two to keep this ship going I'd throw you to the sharks, you know," he bellowed to them, but grinned while speaking.
"Heh... There isn't a single day that I regreat ever being born a sailor's son, and following in his steps to join the sea going life. If I didn't, I'd never meet the two knuckle heads of a Captain and friend who are like brothers to me!"
Tiger's expression softened and he shook his head.
"Ach, Gan Ning..." he muttered, just a bit gruffly. Tiger wasn't big on showing his emotions.
As the boat moved forward, the Indigo stripe nearly lost her balance, bracing herself against Hollow for a moment.
Hollow braced himself against Jewel quickly, turning his head toward the Indigo Stripe, nudging her gently. He saw right away that she was feeling sick. Really not so much of a sea-pony, this one. Hollow took a step closer to brace himself against her to offer support. He was sporting one of his rare smiles.
"Not feeling so well, eh?" he asked. "Don't worry, it'll get better once your system gets used to the rocking."
Roxy couldn't suppress a happy hoot as the ship set off. She clapped the nearest Champion, Hollow, on the back as the spray of the waves misted them.

Hollow let out a brief "oof" when Roxy clapped him on the back, as he was unprepared and surprised. The mist of the wave wetted his dark corn coat even darker. He shook his mane and had to smile to Roxy's theatrics.
"Aye, matey," he replied with a bit of a grin, imitating the typical pirate accent. "I feels how pirateness fills up me very bones."

"Yea, I hear ya! We wouldn't need to fish is we dunked his head in the water and let him burp then; The fish would belly up from the stench!"
Cutter closed his eyes a moment and laughed along with Gan Ning. The mental picture really was too humorous to dismiss. "Aye.." He laughed, "Aye!"
If I didn't, I'd never meet the two knuckle heads of a Captain and friend who are like brothers to me!"
"Aye, and ye BEST be grateful for it too," Cutter grinned, slapping the other on his back in a stallionly manner. Though Cutter often was a poor judge of his own strength.
"If I didn't need you two to keep this ship going I'd throw you to the sharks, you know,"
The red stallion, though he was grinning mildly, nodded his head respectfully to Tiger. The teasing may have otherwise ensued, if the newcomers hadn't been aboard and in need of reminding who was boss on this ship.
"Not feeling so well, eh?" he asked. "Don't worry, it'll get better once your system gets used to the rocking."
"I'll.. be fine," The pegasus said, attempting to stand on her own and hold up her head. With the next tilt of the deck, however, she was again pressed to Hollow's side. Her head wavered slightly, very unsure of this new movement. It had been rare times that Jewel had been on a boat before, and never had she gotten used to it.

Hollow smiled when Jewel was pressed against his side again. He held his footing squarely to support her. He didn't really mind mares clinging to him, at that.
"Are you sure you don't need to... uh... be sick?" he asked just in case. He didn't want to get anything on him, so to speak. He was a little worried, though. If they got into any harsher sailing, she'd be in trouble. "Try to breathe in as calmly as you can."
He corrected his position a little to be able to support her better. Unconsciously, he was making a real effort at caring for someone. That was something he hadn't done in a long time.

Roxanne grinned at Hollow. He seemed like he'd turn out to be an all right guy.
Energy and the salt air were making her twitchy, so she kicked up her heels and jumped down to Kail and Razzaroo to see how they were doing. "Howzit?" she asked, poking her muzzle at them.

Kenaz stood up and gave himself a good shake. "I'm fine." He grinned. "You flutters don't weigh much. We should find a place to hide for awhile, though." He gestured with his muzzle towards where he had stashed the bag.
