[[Whoops, Kenaz isn't here? Ok, I'll edit my post!]]
Orivy was planted firmly, and she kept her hold on the gold pegasus even when a strange light broke from the smallest pony's eyes. She had seen magic before and she couldn't be phased by anything until it actually touched her. She pressed her eyelids down hard and watched the fireworks go off inside, but her ears were pricked. The scream of the flutter pony was gratifying, and some scuffle had broken out between the green pony and the crewmember...
As the fireworks slowed, she kept a firm hold on the pegasus. Her experience as an assassin instinctively told her not to let up. At this point only a catastrophe or an order would make her back down.
[[Sorry, got to keep character continuity, 'Ivy's pretty tough... maybe Ratskull can have mercy? ; )]]

The golden pegasus remained unusually calm in appearance, though Orivy clearly knew what she was doing in terms of her skill. Jewel didn't want to challenge that kind of professionalism, seeing as it was the most deadly kind. Standing atop the ship's Captain gave her at least a fighting chance, but pinned down by the assassin.. put her in a whole new situation.
I've got this power for a reason, right? She asked herself, feeling as if she were stumbling around in the dark of her mind trying to find a weapon or tool to use, but coming up empty-handed, I can't be completely defenseless..
If brute strength and speed weren't going to work, it was clearly time for a new method. Jewel tried something she hadn't before, or at least hadn't asked of the Indigo's power. Orivy probably hadn't seen her brutal facade, and so it might work to Jewel's advantage. Purple eyes glowed as she tried to reach into Orivy's future.
Visions of strange ponies and strange places filled her mind's eye in an instant, and she struggled to make sense of it all. It was like having a dream in which one does not see from themselves, rather an omniscient being who sees and knows all that is happening around them. A name, someone say a name! Listening wasn't always easy during a vision, but she did make out Orivy clearly addressing a palamino-looking golden mare as "Fille."
The pegasus sighed slightly, almost as if to admite defeat. The glow faded from her eyes, and she turned her head back to Orivy.
"The mare named Fille will only break your heart, and not many will be kind to you in that land upon your return," The pegasus spoke quietly, looking Orivy straight in the eyes in what appeared on the surface to be understanding and honesty.
"But there is love in your future. I see it clearly."
Jewel waited to see if this might catch the attention of the pirate.

Surge smiled viciously when the dagger hit home. Kail's sudden movement twisted it off his hooves, though, and being temporarily blind, he couldn't get it back. He felt the other dagger leave its sheath and cursed aloud, but could do nothing. He rubbed his eyes with one large hoof, trying to clear his vision, quite helpless for the time being.
Rain heard Kail's voice as though from very far away. Her display of magic had drained her in a way she had not imagined possible, and her mind was still reeling from the trance it had fallen under. She blinked and shook her head, and tried to focus. The glow in her eyes faded slowly, until her blue eyes were visible again. She blinked again and looked around her. She registered the scary ice grey pirate rubbing his eyes, the Captain farther away, still with the locket, and finally Jewel held down by Orivy. She gasped and tried to get up on her feet. Sharp pain penetrated her entire body, and rather shocked, she looked down at the dagger, dug deep into her body.
"Kail...?" Her voice was frailer than ever before, and she looked at the pegasus shielding her with wide doe eyes. She had never been wounded so badly. She was surprised that she could feel little pain. Only... coldness...

The name "Fille" hit Orivy's chest like a battering ram. Every muscle in her body spasmed; her ears shot forward and her eyes widened in - what was that strange sensation? - fear. For a moment she was sure she had misheard. But there were those purple eyes fixed on her own, and - no, she was not dreaming.
As suddenly, all of her muscles released and she felt limp. Desperately, powerlessly limp. Five years of suppressed memories filled her brain. Gold, everywhere gold; gold in her memories, gold before her waking eyes...
She did not understand how what the pegasus said could be true. She never thought she would see her first love again, nor did she want ever to love again; but she was only young, and no matter how shattered her heart was, the pieces still were alive... faintly, but enough to once again feel the shreds of crippling pain.
She hissed breathlessly, desperately, as her hold on the pegasus released. "What? How do you know her name?"
She couldn't get any other questions out.

As soon as the sudden transformation came over Orivy, and the pirate seemed both limp and in a daze, Jewel sent her powerful hind legs in a snapping kick, lifting Orivy a short ways off the ground and flung in the direction of Ratskull. Luckily, she noted, Surge still seemed unable to see after Rain's blinding light display.
Jewel scrambled to her feet and backed against Kail and the small flutter, desperately urging them to go out through the window whence they came. They could leave the locket--they had to, to escape with their lives.

Orivy now really felt like a battering ram had hit her chest. Dazed, she slammed into Ratskull, but quickly recovered and stumbled upright. All she wanted now was to corner the pegasus and find out what she meant.
She dove towards Jewel. "Tell me!"

Rain was stumbling up at Jewel's urging, happy to see she got up from Orivy's hold, but frightened when the maddened assassin leaped at them. She climbed clumsily out of the window, as quickly as she could, gritting her teeth at the pain, feeling faint in the head but knowing they needed to get out, now, quickly.
Surge shook his head. His vision was slowly coming back to him. He blinked, shook his head again, and then saw two glowing ponies somewhere near the window.
"Oh no you don't!" he shouted and started to take - a little wavering - steps toward the escaping ponies.

"Tell me!"
Jewel tried to keep the situation in check, but the enemy was again on its feet, sooner than the pegasus had hoped. Behind her, she heard the sounds of what she thought to be Rain making her way out the window. The pegasus continued to back slightly, pressing her flank against Kail encouragingly, if not urgently.
Processing information as quickly as she could, Jewel realized that Orivy was now not so set on killing her, rather than getting information out of her. And information was much easier to fabricate than strength.
"I saw it in your life line," She said slowly, remaining calm despite the pony lunging toward her. Jewel looked as if she had no intention of following the others for a moment, "I see the ends of things." She tried to remain as cryptic and confusing as possible.

Ratskull was knocked back against his desk again as Orivy was pushed into him and the corner smashed into the small of his back, causing intense pain. His grip on the locket tightened as he growled "don't let them leave!"
"Out you go, Princess," Kail said and boosted her up to the window, giving her just a bit of warm healing in the process. It wouldn't be enough to heal her wound completely, but it would staunch the bloodflow and start the process.
As the young pony climbed out, Kail kept a weary eye on Surge, but it was Ratskull's hoof she focused on. "Jewel, go!" Kail tugged on her shoulder to signal she should leave before the green peg. Afterall, if Jewel was the last one out they could easily rush her and drag her back in or injure her - Kail would be a little harder to hurt badly enough to keep a hold on.

"Jewel, go!"
If Kail was determined enough to set out on her own to get that thing Jewel thought, thinking of the locket, Then I doubt she's going to give it up now. Not taking Kail with them now could spell disaster in more than one way.
"No. You first." The golden peg half-reared, using her shoulder to push the green pegasus uncerimoniously through the shattered window before she could argue. Even without the locket, the Champions could at least all regroup again. It didn't take a rocket scientist to deduce that their main strength was in their unity.
Since there wasn't much space and even less so for a running start, Jewel placed her front hooves over the window sil, preparing to hoist herself up and out after the others.

Rain stumbled out of the window, feeling Kail's healing touch as a warm splash over her shoulder. It helped her to focus a little though her mind was still reeling. She jumped off the sill and spread her wings, hoping the others would follow. She was certain she would not make it to the ship alone, blasted, she wasn't even sure if she saw straight. As she floated in the air, she started to veer to the side, off course from both ships. Surge heard his captain's order, and was not entirely without his own reasons for wanting to stop the intruders. Kail had got away from him, and STOLEN one of his weapons. Totally unacceptable. She needed to pay. He leapt forward, intending for the green pegasus, but then suddenly Jewel moved in front of Kail as she pushed the healer out of the window. "Noooo!" Surge shouted in anger, stretching his muscles for one more leap. Nearly blindly he reached for a pegasus - either pegasus. His teeth met a target, and he bit them together, planted his hooves tightly to the ground, and yanked back. He had managed a hold of Jewel's other wing, but not close enough to the root. A mouthful of golden feathers got loose and Surge fell on his behind on the floor. He growled and tried to get up in time to catch another hold, some dozen gold feathers peaking out of the corners of his mouth while a dagger flashed out of its sheath. [[run, Champs, run! ]]

((pity the sickie who can't sleep more than a few hours at a time )) The pegasus cried out as she was halfway through the window, but held back by one wing. As the lesser primary feathers ripped from their roots, it felt like hair being pulled save for much worse. Through much wriggling and frantic kicking, Jewel pulled her other wing through the window to the outside, appearing to lose more feathers by the minute. All the writhing in the broken window also added new cuts to her body every time she moved. With a burst of panicking energy, Jewel lashed out a golden hoof behind her, trying to aim for the pirate whose teeth were clamped onto her wing.

[[*pities the sickie*]]
The hoof hit Surge on the chin full-force, nearly dislocating his jaw, but more importantly, managing its purpose. Surge let out an "oof" and fell back, the feathers he'd pulled off flying all round his head as his body hit the ground. He fell right at the approaching Orivy. But the golden pegasus was free.

A newfound hope filled the pegasus as she felt her back hoof connect with Surge's face. Suddenly she was free to fall the rest of the way through the window, and on to freedom. Due to the new lack of feathers, it took longer to gain her balance, and her hooves nearly dipped in the water before she began climbing upwards to the other winged ponies.
It was a bit of a struggle to compensate for the missing feathers, but flying was still possible, just more tiring. Jewel quickly found the green aura-surrounded Kail and the small flutter, and joined them in flight.

Kail fell backwards out the shattered window as Jewel pushed her, splashing into the welcome cool ocean water. It eased her anger and brought her back to the state of thinking and not just acting on instinct and survival. Resurfacing, she caught sight of the drifting royal flutter, and then turned back to the window to find Jewel struggling to get out. Before Kail could flick the water off her wings and propel herself into the air, however, Jewel was free of the window and Kail easily brought herself out of the water and to the flutter's side.
Not wanting to speak to Jewel, for fear she would yell at her friend for attempting a near suicidal rescue like that, Kail instead turned towards the princess. She had lost alot of blood and was obviously not well, and for the first time since her arrival, Kail wondered how she had come to partner with Jewel for this trip. How did Rain even know where they were? Kail would find out later, right now she had a nearly invalid princess to return to a pirate ship.
