For the most part, Jewel say by quietly, watching the other Champions gather. Her mind was still half sleepy, and for the time being she was content to simply stand by and observe.
"If you have any other aches and pains, just please let me get some breakfast and then I'll take care of them."
The gold pegasus's wing twitched slightly, but her face remained unchanged, not even looking toward the other pegasus. She yearned to have all of her feathers back, but it seemed Kail was in no condition to take on such a task after her all-night vigil with Razz.
"I brought breakfast."
The sound of Hollow's voice brought Jewel's ears forward, and she lifted her head from what had become a bit of a sleepy daze. Her purple eyes met his before she looked down at the large baskets he, with the help of Roxy, had brought to the upper deck.
"Thanks, Hollow," Jewel smiled briefly, and stepped closer to start distributing food to the others closest to her.

Roxy sat comfortably on the deck and munched. Contrary to what it may seem, she did not possess boundless stores of energy.
[[Biding time y'all, biding time.]]

The sight of Jewel brought an involuntary smile on Hollow's lips. He noticed he was smiling only when she looked down to the baskets and thanked him. He tried wiping the smile away. What was the matter with him?
He started to help distributing the food as well.
Rain happened to stand close by to Jewel when she started to deal out the food, and when she got a sandwich from the pegasus, she smiled to her thankfully.
"Why, thank you, Duchess Jewel, oh, or I should say Lady, I suppose," she said, recalling halfway that it was not certain if Jewel was a Duchess yet. She didn't really mean to shout about Jewel's rank, but it was only natural to her to address other ponies by their appropriate titles, should they have any.
Hollow's hooves stopped in mid-movement at that note, however. His golden eyes blinked several times and he remained staring at Jewel, his black hooves offering out a sandwich toward Kail but his head turned toward the golden pegasus.
"What?" he asked, his eyes rather wide. "Duchess?"

Roxanne blinked at Jewel in surprise, and motioned a hoof at Hollow Heart. "What he said."

Jewel's heart stopped the moment Rain addressed her in such a cordial way. The gold pegasus's ears pinned back and her eyes looked wide and unprepared for what had just happened. She shrunk back just slightly. So much for leaving old lives behind...
"I uh.. um.. well I..." She inwardly chided, well at this point they're not even likely to believe it, are they?
Fighting off traces of rosy blush, Jewel cleared her throat and composed herself, though she still spoke rather softly.
"I grew up.. the daughter of a Duchess.." She sighed slightly, not fond of bringing up such things when all she wanted to be was a 'normal' pony, "In a kingdom a long way from here. And.. if the royal family still holds any power or titles anywhere after fleeing... then, yes, that is the title I would hold by birthright."
The gold pegasus quickly bit into a roll, and fixed her eyes away from the others. I think I'll have to have a talk with that filly...

Kail took the sandwich Hollow was offering greedily, not paying attention to what was going on with Jewel and Rain. Not that it would have mattered overmuch, she already knew of Jewel's title and past, the older peg having stayed with Kail's mother for a short time after leaving her home. Kail's parents took in orphans much like the green peg herself did now at the nursery, only it hadn't been their full-time job.
Taking a bite and not bothering to savor the flavor as her stomach rumbled loudly at the promise of food, Kail made a content face and finally relaxed a bit.

Roxanne broke into a grin. "Should I forget that? I would dearly love to bring it up as much as possible in the future."

Moon Crystal smiled more widely and nodded. She had to admit that she appreciated Roxy's cheer and openness; the mare had this aura that was comforting and heart-lifting, full of positiveness. Roxanne... I'll do my best to remember your name. She thought to herself.
However, the cheer faded a little when another came in; a weary green pegasus who was obviously not in the best of moods. The unicorn remembered her as Kail, the Green Stipe, though that was just about all she knew about her. Frowning a little, she wondered what had been going on recently as she listened to Rain and Kail speak, but she didn't make the bother of asking to find out.
When the food was offered to her, Moony hesitated, uncertain for a moment. She wasn't particularly hungry at that moment, nor in the mood for food... but heck, it was free, so she might as well. She took the sandwich, nodding in thanks.
Taking a small bite from said sandwich, she allowed her mind to drift off lazily. The stir caused by Rain letting slip Jewel's title didn't concern Moony too much since Rain had already done so earlier when greeting the pegasus. It didn't really feel very important at the moment anyway, and it didn't seem as though it was something the golden pegasus wanted to draw too much attention to, judging by the tone of her voice and the way she spoke.
The unicorn had no desire to bother Jewel about her past. Besides, the sandwich tasted nice and she felt more at peace whilst eating it quietly.

Hollow put his hoof down again when Kail took the sandwich off it, and as Jewel answered, he managed to snap out of his shocked daze. However, he was vastly affected by the news. He believed in the old values still, in royalty and nobility and all of it. And the gap that had existed between himself and Jewel because of her being involved with another stallion already seemed suddenly wider. How could he even entertain thoughts of being worthy of a Duchess? He shook his head mentally, even if physically all he did was to take his own sandwich and start eating. No... it could never be.
He did notice Jewel's reluctance of talking about her lineage, however. He felt immediate sympathy, though he interpreted her reluctance as grief for a lost family, more than a desire to be "normal". He had never wanted to be normal. He had always reached for the stars... and so, he now wondered, as he sat there eating, why was it that he now felt so unworthy of anything?
Perhaps because he knew he could never make a mare happy, no matter his possibly reawakened feelings? This thought brought a gloomy cloud over his countenance again. How could he ever truly be happy with this curse on him? And why didn't he just choose to seek a way to remove it, if it brought him so much pain?
Why was he pondering these questions again? He thought he had resolved it all a long time ago. He thought he had decided on paying the price, and keeping the gift. Why was he doubting himself again?
He felt this whole Champion business seemed not be good for him at all.
Rain was genuinenly perplexed by the effect her revelation had caused. She took notice of Hollow's reaction especially. Oh, dear. Had she let out a frog? She took a sandwich and looked round the silent Champions quietly, her ears drawn back a little.
"Ahem... so... I'll... I'll just go... over and ask the Captain if he knows anything about my brother, shall I?" She wasn't really expecting anyone to answer, and started to back off from the group, until she finally trotted. As she did, she re-focused her mind and brought up her best royal countenance as she stopped in front of the gruff pirate, who seemed to be still in conversation with the odd looking other pirate - as she assumed Coon was a pirate as well.
"Ahoy!" she said, figuring she might as well try to speak like a pirate, and "ahoy" was one of the few things she had picked up on her sailing expeditions. "Here... now, say, Captain!"
[[cont. from the other thread, because, uh, it makes more sense to just have this conversation here. Also, Coon could join the Champions in their gathering, yes?]]
Sea Tiger turned round from Coon when he heard the princess's voice. His brow was furrowed as he looked her over. He was a little amused by her strange choice of phrase, but he didn't let it show. Instead, he regarded her in expectant silence, raising a brow.
When Rain realised he was listening but not about to make reply, she frowned slightly. He was not following the appropriate protocol at all. She corrected her regal posture again and folded her wings more, then realised folding them might display insecurity, and so she unfolded them again, and arched her neck. She would not admit in a million years these pirates indeed made her a little antsy.
"Say, have you seen my brother?"
Tiger was not impressed by the princess's display. His face remained unmoved as he tilted his head to the side.
"Nah," he answered. "Can't say that I have. I'm sure he's here somewhere." This reminded him he had meant to tell Cutter to go and catch the little rascal and lock him into a cabin somewhere. He wanted to make sure there would be no surprises, and holding one of the royal brats hostage would ensure it, he was sure. He grinned to the princess, however. "Are you sure he didn't fall off at some point?"
Princess's nostrils flared. She strongly disliked the way the captain was speaking to her.
"No, I mean, I'm sure. Really, now!" She tossed her tail this way and that, a clear sign she was annoyed with the captain's careless attitude. "I demand you send your crew to find him. He is a royal prince, and the Queen of Dream Valley will be most displeased if she finds out you have neglected the wellbeing of her son!"
Sea Tiger's eyes flashed and he took a step forward, pushing his face into the princess's, causing her to step backward just a little.
"Aye, really? And here I was under the impression that you stowed away on my ship, Your Highness. Do you know what the law of the sea says about that sort of thing?" He examined the princess with a hostile eye. "It says I could make you and your brother walk the plank. It says you both are in my mercy, to do what I will with, and the fact that you're a princess makes a rat's dropping's worth of a difference to me. So I'd suggest you get it into that pretty little head of yours that it's only my mercy that keeps you and your brother free and alive at this very moment. Is this quite clear?"
Rain's eyes were wide as dishes now. She may behave tough most of the time, but she was still young, and had not been in deep enough trouble in her travels to fully appreciate the meaning of the word "danger". She wanted to say something acid to the captain in response, but found herself out of words. She glanced at Coon, then back to Sea Tiger, and finally she made a little sound that might have been "yes", and turned quickly round.
Rain galloped back to the Champions, her eyes still very wide and her wings folded again. She didn't say anything as she took a seat near Moony and glanced back over her shoulder, starting to eat the sandwich.
The Captain watched the princess go with a satisfied smile. Good. Now all he needed to do was to find that prince and have Cutter secure him. He glanced at Coon.
"I'm sorry, my friend, but this interruption brought to my mind another business I should attend to." And he nodded and started to walk toward the hole that would take him below.
[[eh, sorry about this interlude... I didn't realise it was going to get this long. *blush*]]

"Should I forget that? I would dearly love to bring it up as much as possible in the future."
Jewel choked a brief moment on her roll, then smiled anxiously at the other gold mare. She said nothing in response.
After a moment, she found her voice, "I believe we have.. matters to discuss...?"
As Tiger descended into the ship, Cutter soon came into view. The red stallion certainly wasn't fond of the increasing numbers of those.. those Rainbow-affiliated types, and was tuned in to Tiger's discontent of the situation.
"What'll ye have me do, Cap?"

Roxanne wrinkled her nose slightly. I suppose not..
"Yes, we do. How many of us are going to be here, or should we start?"

[[gah sorry about the long absence... have had it busy-rough in real life.... >.<]]
"Yes, we do. How many of us are going to be here, or should we start?"
Hollow nodded briskly, quickly collecting himself from the thoughts that weren't taking him anywhere. Focus on the mission. Yes, that was what he needed to do. Needed to do to get himself back into business. Back to normal.
"Yes, I'm sure we have everyone here that we need, for the moment," he said. "I couldn't find the Red, and the Purple seems to be on his private mission still, or am I mistaken, Kail?"
Rain said nothing. She felt it best not disturb the Champions for the time being.
As Tiger descended into the ship, Cutter soon came into view. The red stallion certainly wasn't fond of the increasing numbers of those.. those Rainbow-affiliated types, and was tuned in to Tiger's discontent of the situation.
"What'll ye have me do, Cap?"
Tiger was utmost pleased to have found Cutter so quickly. He smiled to his first mate, a glint of deviousness in his eye.
"Aye, I want you to find that little prince we seem to have picked up," he said. He nudged his friend on the shoulder a little. "I think we might want to hold him up for leverage, what do you think? See if you can find him and hold him somewhere... safe. I don't trust these Rainbow-ponies."

"Mmmph," Kail nodded and swallowed the bite of sandwich she had been eating. "Yes, he's still gone." Without waiting for any answer, she took another big bite and closed her eyes, savoring the feeling of warmth that was rebuilding from her stomach out.
She was absolutely not going to be the one to start the meeting, seeing as how she was probably the one they were all going to end up yelling at anyways. Might as well try to shrink back as much as possible for now.

"Yes, we do. How many of us are going to be here, or should we start?"
"Yes, Roxy, let's start."
Jewel acted no different now that the truth behind her might-be title had been revealed. Once she recovered from the shock of Rain's impromptu announcement about it, she sat composed, head up, looking at the rest of the group around her. There were much more important things at hand to think about.
"Aye, I want you to find that little prince we seem to have picked up.....See if you can find him and hold him somewhere... safe. I don't trust these Rainbow-ponies."
Cutter grinned, showing a few shiny gold teeth. He had been waiting for Tiger to request something of the like.
"Aye, Cap. I'll go find th'little bugger now."
