The Princess kept eating her sandwich quietly, though her ears were perked up to listen to what the others were talking about. She was slightly cowed now by what the Captain had said to her, and was beginning to realise the graveness of the situation. She missed her brother and was horribly worried about him. She had half the mind to go find him, but the curiosity as to what the Champs were going to talk about won in the end.
Hollow turned his eyes to Roxy, a patient look in his golden eyes.
[[Ummmm yes short. But it’s kinda Roxy’s turn anyways. Uh, are we going to skip over the storm, then? Becka, you said in your mail that we finish this talk and then move on to Course. Or shall we do the storm only on Course’s end? That would make more sense anyway, I guess.]]

(now that pony meet is over and school's out for the moment, I should be posting regularly, I hope)
Coon had remained silent while the young flutter princess had made her demands to Tiger. The thief felt it was none of her business, children was not her thing. Sure she could handle them well enough; she'd interacted with the orphans at the home Kail worked in. Coon even had three siblings of her own. Point of the matter was, if possible, it was better to keep her mouth shut.
Besides, princess or not, she's a bit of a rugrat. Coon wasn’t sure if that was her actual take upon the foal or her hangover talking.
To further prevent anything unnecessary, Coon Skin had also waited until Tiger had walked ahead of her several steps before following. Her own hooves echoed in strong clunks, resounding in hammering blows inside her skull and through her sinuses. Looking, or feeling rather, no better than Kail, Coon took a seat near Roxy and fumbled around for her own portion of the breakfast Hollow Heart had brought up.

((*huggles Rose* Good to see you on the boards again =D ))
The pearly white unicorn frowned when she watched ((is she able to from where she's sitting?)) the little scene between that of the little princess and that big pirate stallion guy. She couldn’t quite hear what was being said, but it was obvious that it didn't go according to the flutter pony's plan since she returned with her cheer levels lower than before.
Rain had taken a seat near the Orange stripe, and she couldn't help but feel that she should try to cheer up the other. Moony smiled at the younger pony, in a way that she hoped was reassuring, even though the other wasn't really looking in her direction. “Chin up, Rain.” She said. “I’m certain you’re brother will be found. And the Champions aren't going to let anything bad happen to him."
I hope anyway... she added thought to herself, not bothering to mention it to Rain. jee, those pirate lot look like a scary bunch... I'd hate to be caught up with them...
She was half listening to the conversation happening amongst the other Champions, though it was likely that it probably had something to do with some kind of meeting.

[Oh no oh no! It's all been on me and here I've forgotten about you guys! I DO apologize - but I'm back, and I'm in again. Let's get this show on the road. Er, sea.]
Roxanne looked around at the group and her ears pricked forward. "So I guess that's on me, eh chaps?
"Well, let's get right in. Momma ain't no fool, and if you'll excuse the bluntness, things haven't been the most relaxed around this ship since we've boarded. Now you know I'm not one to stress unnecessarily, and oh far be it from me to create drama - on stage, sure, but off I like things shipshape as anypony else. But look! Take-it-as-it-comes Roxy's gone all aquiver from the tension!"
Roxanne held out one hoof dramatically to show that she was shaking. The focus on her hoof drew attention away from the blue that began to glow gently in her eyes.
"Now come on gang, how's a pony to fight the forces of evil with a shaking weapon-hoof, right?
"Look." She looked each member of the group kindly in the eye. "I know we're not all the happiest. But y'all know it's my job to pep-talk you lot, and darned if I'm not going to try. If there are things that bother you, they need to be worked out." She shook her head. "Worked out right now, or put aside while we make happen what needs to happen.
"Come on y'all. Bad blood?" Roxanne furrowed her brown in gentle concern. "Does anyone have anything to say? We may not know each other well here, but we're colors from the same Rainbow, if you'll pardon the expression. Once we really feel we can work together, we can begin the work, but I dunno mates, I'm not exactly comfy throwing my life in with ponies I think don't trust myself or each other."

Hollow had to admit that the Blue Champion knew her business, when it came to talking. He listened to her quietly, seeing the importance of her words clearly. It was true; unless they worked as a team they would not get anything accomplished, far less be able to do what they were expected to do, in the interest of all ponies everywhere. The full import of what they were doing hit him as he thought of this. It was not just for some little town they were defending, it was not just getting back some icon of a certain religion - it was something bigger than that. Bigger than all of them. You heard of heroes every day in fairytales. But they were real heroes. And they needed to work together.
"She's right," he spoke quietly, but though his voice was barely louder than a normal speaking voice, it had a tone that made it clear and audible to everyone present. He let his eyes go around them all. "We are a team. None of us is important on their own - none of us should be more important than everyone else. Or have you ever seen a rainbow with all its stripes scattered?"
He shook his head and stepped forward, his dark corn coat suddenly shining with the morning sun as though set ablaze. His golden eyes were intent as he allowed his eyes go over them all, one by one, until they finally stopped onto Kail.
"None of us should think they can solve this battle alone," he said, his eyes never leaving Kail.

Roxanne nodded slowly as Hollow Heart, surprisingly, took the lead from her.
"We shouldn't be pointing hooves," she contributed, hoping to soften the blow of Hollow's stare, "we have all been at fault since we boarded. But certain things have happened which we individually need to sort out."

Kail's ears flattened as Hollow spoke, mostly to her. Rainbows, it might have been better being kidnapped by an insane pirate at this point, with their mission on the rocks, her friends hurt, and Hollow still blaming the peg. Not to mention Razz was still not awake, and she was worried about the kids at the nursery, although she knew her sister would take care of them.
She almost made a snarky comment back, before Roxanne smoothed over the situation nicely. Instead she crossed her forearms over her chest protectively and sat quiet, shoulders up and head pulled in like a turtle. She was trying to be as small as possible, and she was determined not to say anything until someone asked her a specific question. Afterall, she'd already told Hollow what she found out on the other ship.

"We shouldn't be pointing hooves," she contributed, hoping to soften the blow of Hollow's stare, "we have all been at fault since we boarded. But certain things have happened which we individually need to sort out."
Hollow bowed his head to this, all too conscious of his own failings. It took a lot from him not to glance at Jewel at this stage. He was resolved now to rid himself of any feelings he might have been developing toward her. He did not believe in the credit feelings might do to a person, it was his firm belief that feelings only made you weak, and it had been clearly proven to him during this mission.
"This is true," he said as his eyes left Kail and turned to Roxanne. "None here is faultless for the Champions drifting apart, least of all myself. I have not been mindful of my duties, and for that, I apologise to you all." It was not difficult for him to say this as he truly believed it to be so, and it was his faith that if a fault and accusation were true, they should be admitted to. "We should remember, beyond all, why we are here." He glanced at all the others, this time his eyes not lingering on anyone specifically. "As much as this is not a one pony's mission, it is also not to be taken lightly. I may be new to this Champion business," his face moved to an unreadable expression, "but I am no less dedicated. We are here because a force greater than any of us has chosen us for this task. Now we owe it to that force to successfully complete this task, for the benefit of all ponies. Any personal feeling should not come in the way again."
This time his eyes did linger for a short moment in Jewel, though there was no accusation there, only guilt, before he withdrew his eyes and looked at Roxanne again, hoping she would agree with him.

Roxanne tipped her ears at Kail. "Kail babe, relax. You look like a turtle with your neck in like that." She frowned slightly, disappointed in the other mare's fillyish reaction.
"Heart- Hollow Heart has stepped forth admirably, donch'all think?" She nodded at the stallion, and smiled fondly. She had developed rather a liking for him. "None of us have been crystal-clear of fault. I haven't been a good friend or confidant, I haven't stepped forward to pull my weight with words or with actions. I apologize for where I fell short, chaps.
"I hate to sound like a sappy retreat-leader, but maybe we should all find summat wrong with ourselves at the moment. What do they say at those help groups? The first step to change is admitting you have a problem. Eh?"

Throughout this, Princess Rain had listened keenly, and Roxanne's words had affected her most of all. She didn't even fully realise that part of why she found the yellow mare's words so convincing was because of the Blue Stripe power, and she was getting quite worked up as the conversation went along - quite forgetting that she was in fact not even officially part of this group.
"I've been reckless," she peeped in suddenly, raising a hoof, as a reply to Roxanne's urge for faults in everyone. It took her a few moments to realise that she was speaking out of place, and lowered her hoof with an embarrassed shade of pale pink flushing her cheeks. "Uh... er... you meant the other Champions... didn't you."
Her ears drooped backward a little as she scratched her other forehoof with the one she'd raised.

Roxanne gave Rain a smile - not quite a full Roxy grin, but with the same good-natured air. "No worries tiger, I think it's healthy in everyone now and then. And you've become involved in this production too, no doubt - well, won't everyone, eventually, if we don't get it together?
"Thanks, kiddo, for contributing."

Kail re-adjusted her posture so she wouldn't look like a turtle and sighed. She might as well get it all over with, she was sure they already knew her faults anyways. "I've been wreckless, put my friends in danger, quite possibly gave our mission away to the other ship, quarelled," although she still didn't think she was wrong for yelling back at Hollow the night before, "and distracted. I'm sorry for leaving on my own; I was just going to hide and tell Razz where the other ship was headed, but he's obviously not in any condition to recieve messages, and then I bungled everything up."
But she still didn't think it wise that they had sent two ponies after her.

Roxanne grinned at Kail. "Brilliant! Well-done! Oh brava! - And," she tipped her ears forward apologetically, "er, I don't mean that as sarcastically as it sounded. But you're absolutely right, and if I may take it a step further, my advice would be -" she looked around at the group - "that we should consult all before taking individual steps in the future, wot wot?
"Now," she added, "do you know if uh..." She chose the passive form of the sentence so as not to rub Kail the wrong way; the other mare had admitted more than enough. "Our mission did leak to the other ship? That could be rawther important."

At this, Rain grimaced a little, recalling how she herself had shouted "For the Rainbow" when she had attacked the pirates. Looking rather sheepish, she cleared her throat.
"Eh... I... I think they might, to be quite honest," she said. "At least... at least, if they've ever heard of the Champions at all."

"They know we were there to get back the locket," Kail admited, ears falling back on her head again in shame, "but I don't know if they realize there were more than three of us, or that we are on this ship pursuing them." And quite frankly, she didn't know if Ratskull would even care.
"I do know a bit about the Captain though - his home is in Course, and he's loyal to the Queen. With her to back us up, which shouldn't be much of a problem at all, I can't see that we wont get this locket back safetly and quickly." Still refusing to believe what Hollow had said about other royals possibly being in on the theft, Kail whole-heartedly believed it would be as simple as walking into the throne room, talking to the Queen, and Luna demanding Ratskull give the locket back. He would, and they could all go home again. Problem solved.
