Lemon Drop stood quietly in the shade of the Stable. It was a bright, sunny day, but his heart did not feel lifted. The Show Stable behind him huddled in its own corner of Dream Valley, a ghost of its former glory. The white paint had worn nearly totally off, and and the pink roof was now dull greyish. The flags were gone, and many of the windowsills were in desperate need of repair. One of the doors was missing.
Droplet didn't really care. Not anymore. Once, he had had a dream... but, well, that was a long time ago. So many years that he didn't even care to remember. Darkness had taken it all away.
He kicked on a stone, to make it roll farther and then downhill, far over towards a little puddle. There it sploshed, and remained in the mud, ugly and still like everything else Droplet could see. Even the rainbow peeking through the clouds didn't better his mood.
He sighed as he turned away from the landscape, with the Dream Castle farther down and the cottages as little specks in the actual valley. He looked at the Show Stable.
"The way Jumpstart dreamed it." He didn't even notice he was speaking aloud. Yes, the place had been built just like his foster father had dreamed it. With the flags on top, and the white paint on the walls. The flowers on the windowsill had been, of course, her idea. Droplet turned his head, as if to that way better turn his mind away from the unpleasant memories. Yes, she had been here then. But now... even her memory lay in shambles. Nothing was the way it had once been.
Droplet shook his head and went inside the Stable. It had been his home once, and his pride. But those short years of happiness had come and passed by quickly. Everything was gone now.
He didn't bother to close the door after him. There was nothing of value there to be stolen, anyway.

(JUMP post)
Wave Runner was flying swiftly through the beautiful blue sky when she looked down and noticed the Show Stable. It looked like a wreck, but Wavy decided to check it out. She smiled to herself as she landed gracefully, giving her deep aqua mane a toss as she landed. She looked around and walked up to the door, wondering if anyone was home. The door was half missing. Was someone home? Wavy looked through the half-missing door. She couldn't really tell since the place looked shabby and looked like it could use some fixing. Wavy called out, "Hello?"

[[ahem... just a little details: Show Stable hasn't been working for years and years. It's pretty much in shambles and Lemon Drop hasn't seen anyone in years. I'm not sure if Wave Runner would even know him. The door is mainly open because half of it is missing. Wanna edit a little?]]

Droplet could hear a faint flutter of wings. He thought it was a bird, another one of them blasted things, coming up to sit on his windowsills and chitter and chirp and be all cheerful because it was spring. He narrowed his eyes, nearly shuddering with anger. How they dared come be so cheerful at his sad, old soul?
But when the voice of a mare called from the door, he twisted around from the other end of the empty, dark stable. Little light came through, and dust hung in the air. He drew in a deep breath, but had to cough immediately afterwards, so it took him a moment to answer. When he got his coughing under control, he looked out to the door. He saw the vague shape of a pinkish pegasus there. He narrowed his eyes. Who was this?
He didn't answer. Instead, he walked in the shadows to the door. Then, he jumped out of the shadows in front of the pegasus, banging the little that was left of the door open right at her face.
"What do you want?" he said with an angry, dark voice that had no thread of friendliness in it.

The pink pegasus stepped back immediately so the door didn't touch her. A look of fear was plastered on her face. "I...I was just flying by and saw the Stable, didn't know it became so shabby-looking. So I thought I would come by to see if it was ever going to look the way it used to." She mentioned.

Droplet stared at her darkly. Who was she, anyway? Why would she have cared?
"Where have you been for the last years?" he asked rudely. "Nobody cares, so that you know. So you can keep flying past!"
And then he turned his back on the mare and stomped back into the stable. He was hurt that someone would come saying something like that to him. Nobody had cared in such a long time. He looked at the picture of a beautiful mare on the wall. It was the only thing in the whole place he actually looked after nowadays, cleaned it every day. Half he wished someone would come along, some day, to actually drive away the sadness and the pain, and to wipe away the dust.

Wavy sighed. She wondered why he was so grumpy. Was it because he was alone? Wavy knew that ponies who lived alone became grumpy, well some of them did, anyway. The pink pegasus decided to take off and not bother the stallion anymore.

Droplet heard the flutter of wings as the mare left. He let out air out of his lungs, rather pleased with himself for getting rid of the nosy mare - and in other ways, a little sad. Yes, they all went. Who would have cared about a grumpy old stallion, and a crumbling old sports centre? Who would have ever cared?
He looked at the painting on the wall. How he missed having someone to talk to. Though her memory had dimmed over the years, it had never completely disappeared. Sometimes it felt like she was still there, walking through the stable, touching his shoulder... but when he'd turn to see, there would be no one there. Droplet sighed, and went to one of the windows, to look out, at the miserable morning that was yet another start for another dreary day.

((Ok, Wave Runner isn't really nosy. She was just flying by and saw the Stable was a mess, heck any pony that was flying by would want to know why it was like that.))

[[yes, darling, we all know she wasn't nosy. But Droplet thinks so. He's been alone for several years and has come to pretty much hate everybody. He keeps pushing people away so they wouldn't hurt him. Even if they aren't going to. Don't take it personally. Droplet is just not an easy stallion to deal with. ]]

((I see, ya I can understand why Droplet is pushing everyone away. Does the picture of the mare have anything to do with his grumpiness? It seems like that could be it if that is it anyway. Heh, just thinking out loud. XD))

Tweak was walking down a path nearby, and almost missed the stable as she was looking in the opposite direction. However, when she glanced at the building out of the corner of her eye she did a double-take. She had probably seen worse buildings, but what was more interesting about this one was that it looked as though it was a particularly fancy one at an earlier time.
The mare was just planning on pausing a moment to look and then continue on her way, but she could see a retreating winged blur in the distance, and it seemed as though it had been heading from here. Could someone actually own a building and let it fall to pieces like this? I'll just go look inside, and then if there's no one there it won't do any harm anyway.
Without really even considering what she would do if someone was in the Stable, Tweak marched up to the door - or doorway, really, since the door itself wasn't entirely there. However, before she stepped into the building she decided to be on the safe side, and tapped a hoof on the door frame.

Droplet heard a rap at the - ehm, half of a door, and turned his face a bit angrily to that direction. Now what? Would he never be left alone? What was this, another curious silly mare coming to ask her when was the grand opening? Didn't they see the place was in ruins?
Grumpily he stalked to the door again and pushed his head out of the doorframe, like a huge yellow ghost appearing from the darkness. He eyed Tweak up and down and then stared at her as though she was a speck of rubbish.
"What do you want?" he asked once again.

The mare immediately frowned at the stallion. She countered his question with a question of her own.
"Do you own this place?", she asked in a particularly accusing tone.
