Your Name: Sundrop the petite pony in the MLP community, known as Roxanne at C03
Your E-mail: littlelemming3@hotmail.com
Character's Name: Orivy Assassin (I call her Ivy affectionately but the character herself won’t take that nickname from anyone.)
Type: Earth pony
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Body color: Fresh-blood red
Hair color: Golden yellow
Symbol: Green TAF ivy symbol
Powers: She’s not magic, but she’s a flawless self-trained assassin. She kills silently with a plain golden dagger which she carries around everywhere with her. (She also wears a trenchcoat most of the time.)
Personality: She is an extremely solitary pony and bears allegiance only temporarily to those who hire her. She doesn’t like to be touched by anyone, and considers anyone an enemy until proven otherwise (which admittedly is rare). She is quiet, and often speaks in analogies or other oblique language. She is completely humorless, and is quick to physically injure those who cross a line with her. And when she's REALLY angry - although she rarely shows emotion - she tips her dagger with poison. The skin of her ankles bears many old scars from self-injury. Orivy is a very strange, morose and unpredictable mare.
History: Orivy was born in a town called Nexus Port, but left a cold and unloving life with her parents, who were abusive drunkards, at the age of 12. She began to live as a nomad, traveling from town to town and eating what she could find or steal (she is far too proud to beg). She gradually learned to kill to save her life while living on the streets of rough coastal villages, and found a talent in murder, so she began to accept commissioned killings by the time she was 14. She soon gained fame in the underground world of criminals, and thus earned her unofficial title “Assassin.”
When she was 15 years old she was hired by a sort of mob boss to kill a stallion who owed him drug money. When she went to investigate the stallion she inavertently met and fell in love with his girlfriend, whose name was Fille de la Journee. Ivy ended up telling the mare of her love, but she was rejected (of course, because Fille was both straight and attached), although Fille was very kind to her. Still, she was heartbroken and terrified at the discovery of her own lesbian identity. She let Fille and Fille’s boyfriend live, but killed the mob boss and fled town, completely heartbroken. It was during this time and for years afterword that she learned to cut herself as a release for her feelings. Her experience with Fille was the metaphorical straw which broke her attitude towards life; she became extremely bitter, sullen and angry at the world.
When she was 17 years old she was hired by a brother and sister pair of pirates named Abyss and ArchAngel. These two were captains of the most notorious ship to sail the seas at the time, the Morland Stream. Because Abyss and Angel trusted no one, they hired Ivy as their bodyguard. This gave her her first experience actually crewing a ship, as opposed to working ashore with pirates in harbor towns. Here she fell in love again, with the mare captain, Abyss – and this time Abyss returned her love. That was Ivy’s first relationship and she became fiercely devoted to her lover.
One day, the Morland Stream set sail for a place called Lightning Lake, which was told in legend to hold a great treasure. They took a young sailor named Halfmast aboard, not knowing that he was a runaway from the other most notorious ship in the seas, the Riptide. The Riptide was headed by Captain Morgan, who happened to be Orivy’s cousin. The Riptide soon gave chase, and although the crew of the Morland Stream threw Halfmast off of their ship, a conflict was unavoidable. In the epic battle which followed, the entire crew of the Morland Stream was killed, save Orivy - who saw Abyss, her lover, die at the hooves of Captain Morgan, her cousin. Devastated and outnumbered, she managed to escape by jumping ship and swimming ashore, and disappeared.
From that time on she was basically dead inside. She continued to roam the coasts and kill for commission as well as crew pirate ships, but she seemed incapable of forming any more emotional attachments. She stopped cutting herself, because she could not feel even the blade of her dagger in her skin.
She is now 20 years old and has lived an entire lifetime’s worth of pain in two decades. She will work for whoever hires her, as an assassin and/or a pirate, but her eyes are lifeless and it is doubtful that she will ever be able to heal herself inside.
