Moonstone listened quietly at the mare's singing. He thought she had a rather beautiful voice - and he rather liked the particular song she was singing, too. During the song his mind drifted, and he cuddled himself on the grass, huddling his feet close and his tail round his backfeet. After she stopped, he looked at her with a smile.
"You have a beautiful voice," he complimented her.

The mare felt her cheeks turn reddish pink as he complimented her. "Thanks." She said, her eyes glowing. She then yawned a bit and noticed Moonstone was lying on the grass. Skyflier knelt down beside him, letting her knees touch the soft grass. She looked up at the moon, smiling. "My favorite part about the night sky has always been the moon." She said softly, with the melody of the song drifting in her mind again....

Moonstone smiled and watched her kneel next to him. He had clean forgotten that he was still in his astral body, as it was in no way different from his real body.
"Yes," he said, nodding, looking at the moon himself. "Of course, the moon is one of the most important celestial bodies when it comes to interpreting dreams and fates. The most artistic of souls usually feel drawn to it." At least, that was Moonstone's belief.

Skyflier looked over at him and nodded. "I see." She said, understanding what he just explained. She looked back towards the moon, with a smile on her face.

Moonstone was quiet, watching as the stars slowly lit the sky. He felt he could nearly count them all - though of course no one ever could. He forgot himself staring at the stars for a long time. He could read them, read them better than anyone he knew - of course he wasn't as good as Twilight, yet, and could probably never be, but he felt himself fairly able. Right now he didn't really want to read the stars, however. He knew what they were telling him, about his mother.

The unicorn mare turned to face the other unicorn. She noticed he was watching the stars. She looked towards them, then glanced over at the moon. It reminded her of her brother, Moonlight. Where was he living at right now? Skyflier wished she knew. She sensed he was still alive, and out there far off in the lands somewhere...... she got all of her information about the moon from Moonlight. If there was a pony in Ponyland who knew the moon well, it was Moonlight. Skyflier missed her brother so much, and wished she could see him again.....

Moonstone sighed and continued looking up at the stars. Then he suddenly realised that he was looking at stars. Or more precisely, it hit him what it meant that he was looking at stars. He was late already from home! He was so much startled that he jumped up onto his feet.
"My goodness!" he cried out. "Here I am, prattling away. I'm terribly sorry, but I must go. Uh, you see, my mother..." He blushed a little. A thirty-over-year-old stallion that had a curfew? He smiled and tried to explain further: "You see, my mother is a very lonely mare. I live with her to keep her company, and I promised to be home before sunset." He sighed, then gave a little embarrassed laugh. "I don't suppose... I don't suppose you would feel like joining me for a dinner at my house? I'm sure my mother would love some female company around the house for a change."

The mare got up when Moonstone cried out. "Oh, you have to go? Alright. Oh, and dinner sounds like a good idea!" She said with a smile. "Well, it was very nice to meet you." She said sweetly. "I guess we'll see each other soon then."

Moonstone smiled a bit, happy that the mare had accepted his offer.
"Well, it was very nice to meet you," he said. "I hope we will see again soon."
Then he let his astral body dissolve into the air in a way that appeared quite a lot like he winked out. His invisible spirit soared through the air back to the little woodland spot where his body was waiting, and slipped in. He jolted a little at the return, and reared up briefly, his eyes blinking open. He was shivering a bit. It was the longest conscious time he had ever yet spent outside his body, and the strange feeling it left behind concerned Moonstone a little. He hoped it meant nothing.
But as he started off from the woodland towards his cottage, the moonlight played on his rainbow mane and created a halo just behind him which appeared almost as though there was the frame of his body reflected just a few inches separate from his body. The visual illusion lasted for a few seconds, then it was gone again.

The mare watched as he "winked" out. She still stood there, looking up at the moon. She then remembered that tune again. She closed her eyes slowly as a cool breeze blew around her. She then opened her eyes again. The moonlight made the white streak in her mane brighter, making it stand out from her red mane. She turned around slowly. She then remembered she ought to head home, since Friendly would wonder why she stayed out so late. But Skyflier had a good reason for staying out later than usual. And the reason made the unicorn smile.
She closed her eyes once again, her horn started to glow, and she disappeared.
