The vibrant white alicorn was curled up in his bed, piled undereath the blankets. The dismal air of the place had penetrated his fledging mental shields, and now he couldn't help the occasional whimper or sob. Everyone was so upset, and it made him upset too.
Rain's arrival was a bright spot in Kenaz's day. Slowly, he poked his head out from under his 'hill'. Maybe he should go see her...

[[cont. from the other thread]]
Rain bounded up to Kenaz's room door and stopped at it just before slamming it open and rushing in. No no, that was not polite, or princess-like. Rain had lately been more concerned about behaving like a true princess. She raised a hoof and knocked on the door, a royal air about her.
But the next moment she had already forgotten all about being royal, and she grabbed the door handle and threw the door open.
"Kenaz!" she shouted way off from the door as she walked in. "Guess who's ho-ome..."

Kenaz stuck his head out of the blankets the rest of the way. "Rain!" Sunrunner's youngest suddenly slid off the bed and bolted towards his sister, pouncing on her. "Oh Rain it's horrilbe here everyones so UPSET and it's like they're all in my head and I hate it I hate it I hate it!" He clung to her fiercely.

Rain laughed as Kenaz pounced on her, and took him into a just as fierce embrace. You could always count on Kenaz not to be so... sedate! Goodness, one might think everyone in the world had swallowed a lemon. She grinned widely to Kenaz.
"Calm down, calm down!" She ruffled his mane and planted a kiss on his forehead. She was at the moment too distracted to take in any hints about his empathic powers. Her mind was already racing on the waves with the pirates. "It's good to see you! And I know how dreary everyone are here. I mean, of course it's terrible with the locket and everything, but it isn't the end of the world, and the Champions are going to bring it back. Speaking of which, do you want to come with me, I'm going to go with them."

"They are? You are? Oh yes please I want to come to!" The white alicorn's eyes nearly shone as Rain's presence washed away the everyone else's sorrow. "Anything other than sitting here. It's so boring and mom was making me study...but maybe I learned something useful! I was looking at lots of maps and stuff." He nearly bounced. "So how're we gonna go?"

Rain was all excited as well.
"Well, we're going to need some supplies, I think, because we'll probably have to stowaway on the ship for a while, so we need some crackers or something." She considered it, then nodded. "Yeah, crackers are pirate-like, I think. And some blankets, in case it gets cold."
She looked round.
"Do you have some backpacks here? You could start packing the blankets, and I'll go steal something from the kitchen."
[[hehe, obviously they can't get into the ship, but this might result in something amusing nevertheless]]

(cont. from Princess Sparkle's room.)
As Skyflier was heading towards the stairs, she heard someone talking. She looked around her, wondering where the voices were coming from. She noticed one of the voices was probably Princess Rain. The unicorn blinked, following the voices..
She reached the room to where she could hear the voices. She thought for a moment. She knew it was bad to eavesdrop on a conversation. So Skyflier started to leave, when she heard them mention the locket. She turned back around. She had remembered that the locket was stolen. Skyflier wasn't sure whether to keep listening, or to leave, and not be sighted by the two... She was quite curious about the locket, and she wanted to know what was going on, and if one of the Champions has found it yet. But Skyflier didn't want to be rude and just barge in. Yet, the locket was what pretty much everyone was concerned about these days...
Skyflier shook her head. "No, it would be rude to just barge in on their important conversation." She said quietly to herself. She walked towards the stairs, leaving them to their conversation about the locket.

Kenaz dove under his bed, white rump wiggling as he dug around. "Somewhere--" he said, quite muffled. "Aha!" Kenaz scooted back out, quite dusty, and proudly brandished a pair of battered backpacks. "Here!" He beamed at his older sister and tossed one to her. "You don't have to steal from the kitchen though. I don't think anyone will notice right now anyway."

Rain smiled and caught the backpack easily off the air.
"But I do need to practice my stealth, don't I?" she said with an airy laugh, and tossed the backpack onto her back. "I'll go get us the food now. You find and pack some blankets." She turned to the door, then stopped for a moment and frowned. "We'll probably need some weapons, too," she mused, then shrugged. "I'll go find some of those as well. You wait here and pack blankets and anything small you want to take with you."
Then she fluttered out the door and toward the kitchen - to finish her round at the armoury.

Concern flickered over Kenaz's face at the mention of weapons, but he said nothing and instead began packing up blankets. He knew how to fight--all of Sunrunner's children were trained in self-defense. Though the gentle flutter had reigned peacefully, she had come from war, and had been rather good with a rapier when she'd been younger.
Thinking of weapons, Kenaz slipped his sword breaker dagger--a gift from Tyr--into the bag.

[[brief detour by the kitchen, and she's back]]
Rain returned to Kenaz's room with two bags filled with food and carrying some weapons. Ceremoniously, she offered him a sword she had nicked from the armoury.
"Here," she said. "You all packed? Let's go then. I don't think the ship is going to wait for us."
She winked and then started off out the door, her intention to go into the harbour and find the ship Kail was on.

Kenaz took the sword solemly. He managed to stuff it out of sight in the bag for now before he slung it all over his shoulder. Kenaz hurried forwarda few steps until he caught up with her, then slipped back into a comfortable walk at her side.
((After much pondering--he'd be fine on his own. It's really up to you whether you want her to go or not, I'm okay either way. If you don't want three onboard at once, that's peachy.))

[[allrighty then. I shall consider whether or not I want Rain on board once we get there. It is a tempting thought, of course, to have her there ]] Rain smiled to Kenaz as they walked. "Now, we must be very careful, and very discreet," she instructed him. "I happen to know a lot about pirates," in truth she knew nothing at all, "and I'm sure they would be a little reluctant to let us royals on board. So we have to use stealth." She loved using words like that. "Stealth" just had that certain tone to it. "We'll sneak into the cargo bay and then into the ship. Then we'll come out when they're far enough in the sea so they can't turn back anymore." She grinned and then bettered her speed. She wanted to get to the ship before it sailed. [[cont. at the ship]]
