"Don't worry," he said. "I'll defend you against anything that might crawl out of there."
Firefly laughed, the most relaxed she'd been since before Sky's 'confession' of sorts. She looked from the closet to Sky, "I don't think we have to worry about anything alive in there," the mare paused, looked at the closet again, "At least.. I dont THINK there's anything alive in there..... but I guess you never know, right?"
The pegasus squared off against the closet, and leaned her weight against the door as she opened it. The closet was a small walk-in type, built into the angled wall which was also part of the roof. Soon the majority of Firefly's body had disappeared, leaving wing-tips, two back legs, and a double lightning bolt symbol sticking out. The pegasus swished her tail, digging around with her front legs.
"Oh, I think I got it!" The pegasus sounded mysteriously far away, though she was still within the cottage. Soon, a projectile pillow landed uncerimoniously behind her. Firefly inched her way out backwards, dragging a soft blanket in her mouth.
"I tol' 'ou I 'ould 'ind it!" She grinned, turning around and backing into the door to shut it. The pegasus deposited the items by Skydancer, then flopped next to him on her bed with a sigh. "I tell ya.. that closet.. it's always a workout.

Skydancer laughed as she approached the closet, and then proceeded in smirking at her behind as she rummaged around in the closet.
He grinned to her as she came out again with the blanket. He laughed as he grabbed the pillow and the blanket and positioned them on the bed at the side he chose for himself.
"You tamed it well," he complimented her, grinning. He assumed he would get to sleep on the bed with her. At the back of his mind he wondered what that would entail. He curled up onto his back and then stretched up his legs with a thoroughly enjoying expression on his face. Then he yawned and looked at Firefly, whose image appeared to him now upside down as his head was against the bed. He smiled to her. "I really do appreciate this, you know."

"You tamed it well,"
"Ah, I always have the last laugh," She winked at the pegasus.
"I really do appreciate this, you know."
Firefly didn't respond right away, instead just looked at the stallion now on her bed. He certainly was a breath of fresh air for her, and was quickly proving to be great company. She might as well let him stay around a bit, at least until she could really form an opinion on him.
One thing was clear--he seemed to be content sharing her bed. Though she had originally thought the couch would be best, she couldn't help but remember his touch, his embrace.. his warmth. And now it was as if she craved it all of a sudden. And so, she would let him stay.
Firefly moved herself and nudged Skydancer around until both were next to each other, looking up at the skylight. The pink pegasus yawned and stretched, relaxing as she came out of the yawn. Her eyes drifted to the stars overhead.

Skydancer moved willingly as Firefly nudged him, and snuggled comfortably at her side as she settled herself on the bed as well. There was a silence for some while. He was simply enjoying himself. It was comfortable there, and the mare felt nice and warm next to him. It made him remember their earlier embrace and kissing. He stared up into the skylight. He didn't want to scare her away, so he considered well how to continue approaching her. She seemed like she was of the more reckless type. But was that just her on other matters, or did it apply to more personal matters as well? He wasn't sure. She had seemed willing enough earlier.
Finally he decided to make a move. He turned his head and put his muzzle on Firefly's neck, right near the cheek, nuzzling her there gently, testingly. His other hoof wrapped around the one of hers that was the closest.

At first, Firefly wasn't sure what to do. Her body and her mind went at odds with each other, not for the first time that day. Her reckless nature began to rise to the surface again, though part of her thought that.. that maybe she wanted to be careful this time. Maybe this time.. it would be worth it.
Ever so slowly, Firefly turned her elegant head toward the magenta-eyed stallion beside her. Closing her eyes, she nuzzled her nose against the side of his face, then brushed her lips against his. Almost instantly, she pressed against him in a kiss.

Skydancer answered the kiss eagerly, and turned more sideways, to wrap his hoof around her better, cradling her under his other wing as well. He was a passionate stallion when it came to these sort of things, and he was not one to plan, or seduce, at least not in the way the most callous of stallions did. He felt deeply, and showed what he felt. Soon he found himself lying half on top of Firefly, his forefeet on both sides of her neck, kissing her on the lips, though his lower body was still comfortably on the bed. He didn't want to jump the gun. As he ended the kiss he didn't pull away, instead he started to trail a train of kisses down under her chin and towards her neck, downwards, lying just so gently on her so that it would have been quite easy for her to push him away if she so chose. His other hoof ran along her side towards her loins, slowly, slowly.

Outside the cottage, an aqua green pegasus landed on the front lawn. He shook himself and looked about in the darkening night. It was a late time to call on Firefly, he knew, but he was worried of her. It was a long time since they'd met last. He had been busy handling business with the mother of his daughter, and it had taken longer than he'd expected. He thought the pink pegasus might have been worried over him by now.
Not imagining there might be going anything at all on inside the cottage, he walked up to the door and raised a hoof.
Knock knock knock

Firefly's world was spinning somewhere between lust and bliss. It had simply been too long. Her judgement became clouded as pleasures of all sorts flowed through her nerves. All of a sudden, tomorrow didn't matter. Hours from now didn't matter. Firefly's world suddenly consisted solely of the here and now.
The pegasus encouraged Skydancer, pulling him closer and deepening the kisses between them, almost aggressively.
Knock knock knock
"Maybe they'll go away," She whispered in shortened breaths between kisses. But the knocking ensued. Firefly cursed, banging her hoof against the wall behind her bed. She gave Skydancer one last kiss before starting to detangle herself from him.

"Maybe they'll go away," She whispered in shortened breaths between kisses.
"Mmm-hmm," Skydancer murmured into her ear while continuing with what he was doing. He hardly even noticed the knocking in the first place. His lust and heart had taken over. He wanted her, right now, and for whatever the reason was, he didn't care. He just knew he wanted her right now and she wanted him, and that was all that mattered.
But the knocking ensued. Firefly cursed, banging her hoof against the wall behind her bed. She gave Skydancer one last kiss before starting to detangle herself from him.
Skydancer was reluctant to let her go.
"Just ignore it, whoever it is," he pleaded, holding her tighter, kissing her still on the neck in a persuasive way. "I'm sure they'll come back in the morning."
Outside, Medley continued knocking, now slightly worried. Where could Firefly be? He began to fear something might have happened to her, and he backed away from the door slightly, looking up at the windows of the cottage.
"Firefly?" he called out, loud enough to be heard inside the house. "Are you home? It's me, Medley!"

"I'm sure they'll come back in the morning."
"What if.." Firefly's breath came in short puffs, as she became distracted from what she was trying to say. "What if.. it's.. an emergen..cy..?"
The pegasus could barely make out the sound of her name over herself and Skydancer. Someone needed her, and much as she well.. needed Skydancer, at that moment, she couldn't ignore it.
Firefly edged her way off the bed, calling out as best she could, "I.. I'm...I---aaAAHH!" The pegasus landed with a thud on the floor, pulling Skydancer down with her.

Skydancer was very displeased of Firefly's attempt to leave the bed, and thus as they thudded down, he made sure he landed nicely on top of her.
Medley, however, heard Firefly's shout, and to him, it sounded like an alarmed scream. For help, perhaps. In any case it sounded to him like she was in trouble and possibly even in pain.
"Firefly?" he shouted again, but couldn't wait any longer. He hovered about in front of the door, undecisive. Then he suddenly remembered that he had the keys into her apartment. He fumbled around in the little pouch he carried with him at all times - that had all sorts of little supplies inside, such as keys and bandages; for obvious reasons, being friends with Firefly.
He got the door open fairly quickly, and then rushed inside, looking around.
"Firefly?" he called out, worry apparent in his voice. He couldn't see her downstairs, so he got on his wings and flew up to the loft.

"Skydancer..!!" Firefly tried slightly to push him off, but before she could, the door opened and a familiar voice reached her ears.
It wasn't often that Firefly was caught so much like a deer in headlights. She froze a moment, not sure what the wisest move would be. Just as Medley flew up to the loft, Firefly continued her efforts to move the yellow peg off of her.

Skydancer didn't really understand what was wrong. They were having fun, were they not? Why should they hide it? So he wasn't particularly willing to move when Firefly tried to push him off.
Medley's feet touched the loft floor. His eyes widened. Briefly a look of hurt went past his eyes, but he recovered himself quickly. His secret must not be revealed. He lifted his head, but daren't speak right away. He didn't trust his voice, so much his heart was hurting. Of course it was in no way unthinkable that Firefly should have a stallion friend over - even that she would be dating someone. Goodness, Medley had not made any moves himself, and Firefly was unchained, free, and in every possible way in the right in this situation. Still, it felt to Medley that she had betrayed him horribly.
Skydancer saw Medley's face, lying on top of Firefly and having a full view over to the aqua pegasus. Something moved in his eyes. Oh, yes. He had heard of Medley too, even if only vaguely. Now he allowed Firefly move him off of her, realising all too well that the fun part was over. He kept evaluating Medley with his eyes, however. He was not a fool. He could see Medley didn't approve.
"I'm sorry," Medley finally managed to say, taking a step backwards.

The pink pegasus recovered her dignity as quickly as she could. Standing up with ruffled hair and feathers, Firefly offered a small smile to Medley, locking her knees to keep her legs from shifting uneasily. She read his expression, and instantly wondered if she had accidentally stood him up--Firefly DID have a terribly memory with dates and such. He had obviously just returned from his trip, were they supposed to spend time together upon his homecoming? The pegasus found herself suddenly ridden with guilt.
"Hey, Ponyfeathers," She offered him a small smile, trying to cover her discomfort. "This is my.. friend. Skydancer. We um.." The pegasus looked down. "We met.. this morning." Firefly knew Medley had always been a stallion with certain values, and couldn't imagine what he'd think of her at that moment. The pink pegasus suddenly looked like a nervous teenager caught in the act of something undesirable. As much as Firefly had been the leader and the spearhead in the past, unbeknownst to Medley, she had always valued his opinion of her, and always trusted his judgement the most.
"E-excuse me," The pegasus said, gliding down from the loft and ducking into the bathroom.

This morning? Medley's expression grew more disbelieving, and even a tad bit disapproving. Firefly's discomfort was obvious to him, however, which softened his heart a bit. As she dashed off into the bathroom, he watched her go without a word, still too dumbfounded and emotionally confused to be able to speak.
Skydancer had not the same problem. He had not much prudence to speak for, nor did he really understand what was so horrible about these kind of one-night-stands - besides, he was planning to make it more long-lasting than that. So he stretched and flapped his wings a bit, then folded them closer and started sorting out his feathers casually, as if there was nothing in the world wrong.
Medley's eyes returned to the other stallion. His countenance grew darker and he stepped forth, his ears flattened and his wings just a bit unfolded, for scare effect. Being actually a tad bit lighter of built and not as strong as Skydancer, he didn't make as impressive an effect as he might have hoped, but Skydancer was getting the message. He stopped grooming his feathers and faced Medley.
"Easy, old buddy," he said, smiling, very amused. "One might think I just stumbled on your wife or something."
Medley flattened his ears more and drew his head back. The words stung, but he refused to let it show.
"Firefly is a good friend to me," he said rather icily. "And if you'll try to harm her..."
"Hey!" Skydancer said, tossing his tail, grinning. "Don't get all worked up. We were just having a little fun, that's all!"
Medley eyed him suspiciously for a while in silence. Who was this yellow stallion anyway? He hadn't seen him before - and wouldn't have cared to see him now, either.

Firefly shut the door firmly and splashed her face with cool water from the sink. What a mess. The last pony she would want to walk in on her like this beside one of her parents was Medley. She thought so much of him, seldom as she expressed it. The pegasus had surprised herself in the past with how many times she had entertained the thought of, 'What would Medley do in this situation?' or 'What would Medley say?'
Well, what would he say now? Firefly sighed. She dried her face, took a deep breath, and reached for the door.
