Skydancer smiled, very happy that she seemed to be falling for it.
Medley, on his behalf, eyed Skydancer just a little suspiciously. The yellow pegasus didn't strike to him as an exactly eager cleaner... why was he now so eager?
Medley's eye wandered over to the trophies. A thought itched on the back of his brain, a realisation that wanted to surface, but Firefly's question to him took his attention off of it.
Skydancer watched the green pegasus intently. He guessed that there was the chance that Medley would see through his little ploy...
Finally Medley smiled to Firefly. He didn't like the idea of letting the two others alone together, but he couldn't appear too unwilling.
"Why, sure," he answered casually. "We could get some lunch from my place and then head back here to start the tour. Surely we'll need some food and it seems that the... whirlwind has devastated your kitchen."
Obviously he knew well what the other two were hinting at, but chose to act oblivious.

Firefly kept herself from making an exasperated sigh. Obviously these two didn't care much for each other. But Skydancer didn't seem to have the attitude problem--it was Medley. Perhaps they could talk.
Or, perhaps, it could just wait.
"Alright," Firefly said with confidence, walking to the door. She turned to look at Skydancer with a subliminal message that if he did anything to worsen the condition of her house, well.. he shouldn't. She wasn't afraid of leaving her cottage in his hooves for a short time.
"C'mon, Ponyfeathers... And you behave yourself, Sky!"

"C'mon, Ponyfeathers... And you behave yourself, Sky!"Skydancer flashed her a confident smile, which seemed to say "of course I won't break anything". "Always, my little lightning bolt," he said slyly. Medley wasn't so sure, but chose to leave it at that. "Coming," he said and trotted after Firefly. He wasn't sure what it was about Skydancer, but he kept rubbing Medley the wrong way. Maybe it was the fact that he seemed to know just how much his flirting with Firefly irritated Medley but he wouldn't get all fired up about anything Medley said - which made the green pegasus appear foolish. Medley bristled shortly to Sky before leaving the door, but tried to leave all such thoughts behind as he took a few strides past Firefly and took off into the air. After the both of them were gone, Skydancer turned quickly to the trophies. He took them one by one into his hooves and looked inside, trying to find the one in which he had hidden the shards. After some five unsuccessful attempts he finally made a happy noise. The sixth contained the shards. He took the cup into his hooves and started toward the door, to take them out and hide them to one of the flower benches outside. [[do we want to have him get away with it? ]]

"Always, my little lightning bolt," he said slyly
Firefly held his gaze a moment, a sly look reflected in her own violet eyes. Her glance promised a later rendez-vous.
The pink pegasus let the door swing closed behind her, and quickly ascended to Medley. She approached, flying corkscrew loops around her friend as they flew, sometimes drifting a short ways upside down to give him a comical expression.
She thought of asking him to explain how he felt, to enlighten her as to why he seemed so ill at ease. But Firefly wasn't one to like discussing emotions, or dabbling into any of that kind of drama. She would wait until Medley sought her out and was ready to talk, if anything. And she would always support him.
Flying beneath him and flipping on her back, Firefly gave Medley a quizzical look, "Ponyfeathers, you're flying upside down!"

Medley looked down to Firefly and had to laugh. She did always know how to make him feel better. He tried to shake all thoughts of Skydancer from his mind as he himself made a few loops in the air and then flew down, placing his forehooves against hers, as though they were dancing. Then he started to fly in a slow undulating pattern, to strengthen the idea of dancing.
"May I have this dance?" he asked, trying to show that he, too, could be fun.

May I have this dance?"
Firefly adopted an english accent, "Why of course, dahling!" She laughed, keeping her hooves with the green stallion's, "You dahnce diviiinely!"
After a moment, the pegasus suddenly dove, angling them downward in a spiral, hooves still touching. The feat much resembled those of eagles choosing mates: how they would clasp talons and spiral down to the earth to test the faithfulness of their prospective mate.
Not a second too late, Firefly swung Medley back upward, then, belly nearly touching the long grass below, did a daredevil swoop before rising back up into the air with him.
"Nothin' like an adrenaline rush first thing in the mornin, huh Medley?" She grinned broadly.

Medley smiled at first when Firefly replied to him in an English accent, but when she then suddenly dove, a scream caught into his throat. He might have screamed the whole way down, but he was simply too frightened. Also, he didn't want to seem like a coward. At the crucial moment down when Firefly swooped them back up, he did close his eyes though. And when she started to rise back up again, he opened his eyes - wider than normal, and breathed so fast that he thought he would hyperventilate.
"Yeah. Sure." He shivered so that he could barely hold his wings in order. "Nothing like. But preferrably not right after breakfast." He turned a little deeper shade of green. "I think I'm going to be sick."

Firefly smiled sheepishly, forgetting (as she often did) that not every pony had the iron stomach she did. "Come on, let's get back on the ground."
The pegasus landed gracefully, making sure her friend touched down safely as well. She looked at him with concern, "I didn't scare you, did I, Ponyfeathers?"
She nudged his shoulder with her own with a smile, "You know I'd never let anything happen to you."

Medley's feet touched the ground gratefully. He shook just a little, but did manage to get his spinning head in control again - slowly. The nudge nearly felled him, so shaky he was feeling, but her words made him smile. He looked at her and reached his muzzle over, nudging her to her neck.
"No, I'm, I'm all right," he said, trying to look less dizzy though he was still rather - green. "And no, you didn't scare me at all. I only, uhh, was startled. You know I'm not a champion on aerial acrobatics."
He felt a little sheepish. As the stallion, should he not have been the one to say the last line? Should he not be the one to protect her?

Firefly felt immediately guilty, but did her best to make Medley feel better. She slowly pulled her friend down in a sitting position beside her, and wrapped a pink wing around him.
"You did better than most stallions would!" She laughed for good measure, "Most stal's would've wet themselves and passed out," She smiled at him, wishing with all her heart for him to feel well again.
Not knowing what else to say, Firefly reached over and kissed the stallion's cheek. Perhaps she had been spending too much time with Skydancer, and had played with Medley in a way more appropriate for the yellow stallion.

Medley still had to toss his tail a bit uneasily around. The kiss on the cheek made him for a few moments lose his bearings, and he blinked and tried to concentrate again. Then he looked at Firefly a bit uncertainly.
"I suppose Skydancer would have done better," he said a little quietly. He had already gathered enough to realise that the yellow pegasus was much better with his wings than Medley was.

"I suppose Skydancer would have done better,"
Firefly sighed inwardly, Males.. Always so...male! She wasn't sure what to say, and it frustrated her. What could she say? Yes, Skydancer was a better flier.. and acrobat.. and flew faster.. but this was Medley. Her Medley. He was completely different.
Feeling a bit defeated, Firefly looked slightly downcast, away from her companion.

Medley noticed Firefly's change of feeling, and worried immediately. She looked so sad. And Medley instantly realised it was all his doing. Feeling of guilt and shame went over him. His jealousy was blinding him, he realised. He looked down for a moment and asked himself what was he doing. He couldn't chain Firefly down, and would he even have wanted to? Wasn't what he had always loved precisely that spirit, unchained fire inside her? And wasn't it in the nature of true love to let go when it is for the best of that who you love? He was being so selfish.
Firmly he decided no more. Though it hurt him, he had to stop doing this. Firefly was more important than his jealousy.
And as he looked at her, he recalled all the years they had known each other. All the laughter and the happiness. The friendship. No one could take that away. A smile came over his lips and he stepped closer to the pale pink pegasus, touching her neck with his muzzle gently.
"Chin up, Fly," he said with a warm, completely changed voice. "Give me a smile."

Chin up, Fly," he said with a warm, completely changed voice. "Give me a smile."
Medley's changed tone seemed to instantly lift the pegasus's spirit, as she genuinely smiled at her friend. At the moment, Firefly didn't want to give the situation any more thought. Social drama gave her headaches, and nothing concerning emotion was very easy for the tomboyish mare to really grasp.
And so she took advantage of the upbeat situation and turned to Medley with raised eyebrows, "So where to now?"

Medley smiled quietly as he looked at her. He knew what he had meant to do. But his decision made him change that plan.
"You better get back to Skydancer," he said, nudging her on the cheek. "I'll go back home and clean up there a little, I think." He smiled. "Have fun on the sight-seeing tour, Firefly."
