"Matches nicely, doncha think?"
Jewel smiled, inwardly wondering what had come of the other numerous feathers that had been left in Surge's mouth.
"...It's we who are the law, and no matter who's chasing who there's a fight ahead, isn't there? Reasoning - which I'm assuming is what Kail was doing - didn't cough much up. Except a mouthful of your feathers."
"Unless we think of some truly brilliant scheme," The pegasus paused, sighed, "Then yes, I think there's pretty surely a fight ahead of us. And I highly doubt reasoning will get us anywhere with them, unless, I don't know.. unless MAYBE we had something more valuable than the locket to trade them for it. And that's really stretching things."
Jewel briefly remembered the look in Orivy's eyes, that passionate predator-like stare that sent chills down her spine.
"You know that's a-ok with me. You should get some rest, anyhow. I'll leave you to recoop."
"Alrighty," The pegasus said, smothering a yawn, "I could go for rest now.. and Hollow should be back soon with something to start patching me up with."

More valuable than the locket... was there anything?
Roxanne nodded and smiled at Jewel, seeing that she was tired. That was enough emotionally draining talk for now. She got off the bed and flicked her tail. "Goodnight, good morning... well, good snooze."
She gave Jewel a friendly look and stepped out.

"Goodnight, good morning... well, good snooze."
Jewel smiled as Roxy left, much comforted by her visit. The presence of friendly faces made the nature of the trip much more bearable, and the company more enjoyable.
Once Roxy had gone, Jewel rested her head down and waited for Hollow's return.
((I guess, since the chat thingie, we can skip ahead to Hollow and Jewel alone after the conversation with Kail))

[[Coon needs to be there too. And in the chat Hollow and Kail didn't really patch up, they just, sort of, were matter-of-fact to one another. I think real good Charisma "union talk" is very much needed when we get all the Champs together (well, drag Razz's body there, anyway )]]

(This will sound majorly disjointed because we RP-ed it in chat a couple days ago. I left the names in just so people wouldn't get confused with the "she"s)
DelphinBella: Kail had not been successful with waking Razz, and she had already been to see the Princess and heal her a little more, so that left only one last thing: appologizing to Jewel and Hollow. DarkCrystalline: Hollow had got Jewel water to drink - that seemed like the safest bet - and had brought ample bandages and water to clean up and tie Jewel's wounds, assuming Kail wouldn't get to her anytime soon. DelphinBella: She really would have rather gotten something to eat and gone to bed (she hadn't eaten or slept since the news of the locket's disappearance), but she doubted she could have slept well with this weight between them. DelphinBella: Quietly she approached the door and knocked lightly on the frame. DarkCrystalline: Hollow looked up from the scrape he had been carefully cleaning up, trying to be as gentle as possible. MustBeJewel: Jewel was biting her lip and looking away from Hollow's efforts, and didn't look toward the door when Kail knocked DarkCrystalline: Hollow frowned to see the green pegasus's form at the door. DelphinBella: Looking sheepish, and feeling even moreso, Kail spoke. "I uh, was checking to see if you needed any help," she said quietly. MustBeJewel: Jewel opened one eye upon hearing Kail's voice, but didn't make an effort to reply to her. DarkCrystalline: Hollow stopped tending to the wound and dropped the cloth he had been doing it with into the water bowl. He didn't look particularly angry, nor particularly friendly. "Our seer could use some healing." MustBeJewel: Part of her was still bitter at Kail's seemingly foolhardy mission, and the other, even just slightly, enjoying being cared for by the stallion. DarkCrystalline: He remained close to Jewel, not wanting to leave her side, especially since she was so vulnerable. DarkCrystalline: Or seemed like it, at least, to Hollow. MustBeJewel: "How is the princess?" Jewel asked cooly, turning to look at Kail not with contempt, simply with concern. DelphinBella: Kail's ears went down as Jewel didn't reply and she took a timid step into the room. "It will take some time to make the feathers grow back, but the cuts wont take long." She didn't want to start without Jewel's ok. DarkCrystalline: Hollow's tail turned this way and that. He wasn't sure how he felt toward Kail. He was not angry anymore, and it wasn't like him to be angry in the first place. DelphinBella: "She's ok. I finished healing her and then let her sleep. Razz won't wake up though." There was worry in her lavendar eyes but she hid it from her voice. DarkCrystalline: Hollow's other ear twitched forward at the news of Razz, and he frowned slightly. That was worrisome news indeed. MustBeJewel: "You can make the feathers grow back?" the peg's ears perked, not expecting anything could be done for them. MustBeJewel: She also nodded her approval that Rain was doing all right, and was equally grateful for the fact. DelphinBella: "Well, it will take a while, but yes. " MustBeJewel: "You don't.. have to," She said softly, "If it's too much. They might just, grow back.. eventually." DelphinBella: "I probably can't do it tonight, not fully at least. But a few days of healing and they should be good as new." DarkCrystalline: Hollow felt relief as well for the news that Jewel's wings could be repaired. He had worried of it. It made him boil inside to know there was now a pirate who might sport those lovely golden feathers in his cap. MustBeJewel: Jewel nodded, not in such a hurry now that she knew Kail could help her. Inwardly, she never even dared to entertain the idea of not being able to fly again. DelphinBella: "It's not too much," Kail smiled although it didn't reach her eyes. She wanted Jewel to understand that none of it was too much, would have been too much, if they had just left her to her own devices. DarkCrystalline: Hollow was quiet as he watched Kail and Jewel talk. He had nothing to say. Kail did not seem as agitated as she had been earlier. He wasn't sure what he should have said or done, however. MustBeJewel: A brief silence passed, words floating through Jewel's mind that wanted to surface, but stayed inside. DarkCrystalline: He felt the need to mend things between himself and Kail, but he was uncertain how it should have been done. DelphinBella: Walking into the room still a little sheepishly, Kail stopped before Jewel and knelt down next to the bed. "It wont hurt," she said softly and wrapped her wings around the other pegasus in what appeared to be a hug. MustBeJewel: Jewel closed her eyes, not entirely sure what to expect. Inwardly she still toiled over the things she wanted to say to Kail. DarkCrystalline: Hollow stepped back from the pegasi as Kail wrapped her wings around Jewel, his ears drawn back a little. He envied her for her power at that moment so much it ached. DarkCrystalline: He would have wanted to be the one to help the golden pegasus that way. DelphinBella: As she started to hum softly, Kail let the warmth of the green stripe flow from her own body to the other, the greenish glow wrapping them both in its light. MustBeJewel: Jewel opened a purple eye, glancing down at the small slashes across her limbs and chest which suddenly, no longer carried the sharp pain they had before DarkCrystalline: Hollow had never seen anyone being healed before. He watched with fascination and awe. DelphinBella: After only a few minutes the humming quieted and then stopped completely and Kail unwrapped her wings and moved back to sit on the floor. She had no energy to continue. "Feel any better?" MustBeJewel: Jewel surveyed her injuries with interest, all of which had closed, and many had smoothly scarred. MustBeJewel: "Much better.." She replied, bending a foreleg to see if there was any pain. Even the part of her wing where the feathers had been torn didn't smart any longer. DarkCrystalline: Hollow stepped closer again, just slightly uncertainly, which was unlike him. "It looks better, at least." It was a sort of tentative offering of peace - of a kind, anyway. DelphinBella: "I'm glad," Kail said with a small smile. Healing someone was always good to help mend the wounds of the heart as well. DarkCrystalline: He was uncertain if Kail was still upset with him. But he felt no need to apologise. MustBeJewel: "Kail?" Jewel asked, in a serious but light tone, "All I wish to say.. is that in the future.. I think it would be best for, for the whole team.. if we all communicated more. MustBeJewel: We won't infringe upon each other's freedom, but still.. the mission will be easier for all of us." MustBeJewel: Part of her still screamed out to label the other as a fool, an impulsive fool, but name-calling and accusations would never remedy the situation. DelphinBella: Kail's ears went down again in shame and she nodded. After a moment she found her voice, with no anger in it. "I was just planning on scouting, but..." Well she might as well have out with it. DelphinBella: "I know the captain and I thought I could do it on my own then." MustBeJewel: "You know him?" Jewel blinked incredulously, "How long did you know it was him we've been chasing?" DarkCrystalline: Hollow was happy to see Kail seemed to have come to her senses. At least she seemed like she understood that she had not acted wisely. DarkCrystalline: He planned to say something, but was interrupted by Jewel's question. He had to admit he was curious to hear the answer. DelphinBella: "Um, since I saw him through the window. I didn't know he was a captain, but he used to know my mother and father." MustBeJewel: Jewel nodded. Well, at least Kail hadn't been hiding anything from them. Not that she would, but it had started to sound that way. "Can you use that to our advantage in any way?" DelphinBella: "He thought I was my mom at first and let me in, and I found out where they were going." She stopped and laughed briefly, "but I started glowing and he freaked out. I don't think he'll care for me much now." MustBeJewel: Jewel recalled having both met and stayed with Kail's mother, in the days before she had even arrived in Ponyville. In the days when she was a hearty and headsrong teenager, running from the palace life. DarkCrystalline: Hollow would have had a plenty to say about Kail just deciding to up and go to the pirate after recognising him from the window. Did the Green Stripe come with the Stupid Stripe as well? But he kept his mouth. DelphinBella: "He does owe me for healing him once, but I think after what happened he wont care much." DarkCrystalline: Hollow narrowed his eyes. "Does he know who you are? And what this ship is doing following them?" DarkCrystalline: He had to sneer inwardly at the supposition that a pirate would care for debts. He had known many rogues, and usually they didn't care. "I don't think a stallion who has stolen the Locket of the Rainbow of Light will - - DelphinBella: "I didn't tell him about the ship, although he might come to his own conclusions based on the way we flew off. I told him I was going to Course to see family." DelphinBella: Kail could feel herself getting defensive and had to calm down again. DarkCrystalline: care much for a debt like that." DelphinBella: "Well, like I said, I didn't know he was a pirate when I healed him. He was fighting for the Queen of Course, as was I and my mother." DelphinBella: "We had no reason to suspect him anything but a loyal servant of Course." DarkCrystalline: Hollow smiled a bit. "No. I'm sure you didn't then. All I mean is that I don't think he will care for the debt much now." MustBeJewel: Jewel nodded, then rested her chin on her newly-healed forelegs, ears swiveling back and forth between the two Champions DelphinBella: "I doubt he will, yes." Kail frowned. "I've already told the Captain of their plans to go to Course, and he's going to continue following them unless we loose sight." DarkCrystalline: "We must assume he knows, however. He might change course." MustBeJewel: "Why don't we get the whole group together in the morning and discuss everything?" DelphinBella: Kail shrugged, if they changed course then their own ship would follow. MustBeJewel: The pegasus buried her muzzle between her knees and yawned, then looked up tiredly at Kail. DelphinBella: "That's a good idea, assuming Razz wakes up..." Kail bit her tongue to keep herself from making any sort of emotional face at that. MustBeJewel: "On the bright side.. Razz could be in some deep trance associated with his Stripe..." The pegasus offered. DarkCrystalline: Hollow furrowed his brows, thoughtful. He was going through in his mind the options for why the pirate ship might be going to Course. DelphinBella: "Yeah," Kail smiled thankfully at Jewel's suggestion. "Yeah," she repeated to herself hopefully. DarkCrystalline: Hollow said nothing about Razz, though he himself was not so sure. The purple pony had appeared sick rather than in trance to him. But he said nothing, so as not to dampen Kail's mood. MustBeJewel: For a moment, Jewel pondered looking into Razz's future, that is, if she could do the same as she had with Orivy. MustBeJewel: As tired as she was, she tried anyway, for Kail's sake. Her body stilled, and she stared ahead at the wall as if she could see through it for miles. DarkCrystalline: "In any case, I am sure we can handle this without Razz for the time being, as well. Our biggest problem right now is that we shouldn't lose sight of the other ship. If they were going to Course to hide, they will change course DarkCrystalline: now that they know you know where they are going." DelphinBella: "They may not," Kail said, ignoring the look on Jewel's face. She had seen it in the other ship and it was slightly disturbing. DarkCrystalline: Hollow took notice of Jewel's expression and made sure to keep an eye on her, in case it meant she had a vision, or looked for one. DarkCrystalline: He frowned to Kail. "Why not?" DelphinBella: "Rascal was a bit mad, and Course is home and safety for him. And the captain said he might already have someone in Course paying him to do this." MustBeJewel: Once the gold pony was convinced she had seen enough, her expression softened and even turned to a smile, though she tried to hide it. Some things just shouldn't be revealed. DelphinBella: "I don't know that its true; I can't think of anyone who would want and have the funds for the locket, but he may be right." DarkCrystalline: Hollow frowned. Kail might be too innocent to see all the possibilities, but Hollow certainly wasn't. DelphinBella: The smile on Jewel's face comforted the green peg although she didn't show it. She was too concerned with trying to figure out who could possibly want the rainbow and have the money to buy it. DarkCrystalline: "Anyone from the Coursian court." DelphinBella: "But Queen Luna was already restored to the throne," Kail said niavely. DarkCrystalline: Hollow looked a little sardonic. "Queen Luna is not the only royal persona in the Coursian courts." DelphinBella: Kail paused at that. No, she wasn't the only royal... but there was the prophecy... which was about her daughter... DelphinBella: "I can't imagine anyone wanting to go up against Queen Luna. She's got the whole of the Coursian Army at her beck and call. And quiet honestly she can be very terrifying." DarkCrystalline: "I am sure that any other royal family would jump at the opportunity to own the Locket. Through owning it, they might stand a chance at overthrowing the current Queen. Politics, my dear Kail, politics." DarkCrystalline: "Politics of the greedy have turned the fates of nations world over." MustBeJewel: Jewel nodded solemnly in agreement. It was the story of her homeland. DelphinBella: Frowning, Kail nodded. Politics of the greedy has lost Luna the throne in the first place. But who, honestly, didn't want to see the rightful Queen on the throne... aside from Glasya who was dead. DarkCrystalline: Hollow had to smile at Kail's naïve world-view. But then, it also made him a little wistful. He had lost such innocence a long time ago. DelphinBella: "I guess we'll just have to wait and see..." The peg didn't want to accept that someone in Course we be dumb enough, or desperate enough, to do that to the Queen. DarkCrystalline: Hollow nodded to what Kail said. "That is all we can do. And if we should lose sight of the ship, we will go straight to Course and hope we can find them. And inform Queen Luna that there may be a danger to her throne." DelphinBella: Kail nodded thoughtfully - she didn't want to be the one to give the Queen that news. MustBeJewel: Jewel faded in and out of the conversation, but grasped the politics easily. It was something, though years in the past, she remained quite familiar with. DarkCrystalline: Hollow frowned. "However, a mad adversary is always more dangerous than one with all his senses on him. He will not necessarily behave logically. We must prepare for anything." MustBeJewel: "At the same time," Jewel added, "A mad opponent might just be more genious than you'd expect" DarkCrystalline: Hollow nodded grimly to Jewel's words. "Yes. Genius but illogical. Therein lies the danger." DelphinBella: If possible, Kail was even more sedate than she had been when she arrived. "Well then, we will have to improvise as well. Razz acts mad sometimes, maybe he can figure out what's in Rascal's mind." DarkCrystalline: A thought came to Hollow's mind. "Can Razz reach into minds of unknown ponies farther away? Such as Ratskull's? I am not aware of the delicacies of his power." DelphinBella: Kail knit her brows together as she thought. "He can reach me far away, but I'm not sure about others, especially non-Champions." DelphinBella: She frowned, her answer didn't help much. DarkCrystalline: Hollow nodded, then turned to Jewel. "How about you? You have met him now. Can you reach into his future? Try to see something of where he may be going, or doing next?" MustBeJewel: "I.. could try." MustBeJewel: Jewel did her best to remember Ratskull, though overall her contact with him was brief, and mostly involved her holding his head to the floor while staring down Surge.
Jewel tries but it too tired to be able to see anything. Kail excuses herself so that Jewel and Hollow can get some sleep and goes to find Razzarroo again.

[[Oh Becka could you edit that part where Hollow calls Rascal Ratskull - he wouldn't know that name yet, after all. ]] Hollow closed the door after Kail had left and looked at Jewel, just a little hesitantly. He felt the conversation had not really helped their case. He had nearly ended up arguing with Kail again - and he was of the firm belief that if the other pirates now knew who they were and that they knew their destination, the whole scouting trip had been in vain. He felt frustration, frustration that he could not decipher the exact plans of this Captain Rascal, be of more use, and frustration that despite his best efforts, he seemed constantly be ending up butting heads with someone on board. It had been tolerable so long as it was the pirates, but now he felt like he was going to end up arguing with Kail. That couldn't be good. He sighed and hung his head a little as he walked from the door to his own bunk.

Jewel drew her forelegs to her chest and rolled onto her side, her pain greatly subsided by Kail's healing touch. She sighed and closed her eyes momentarily, still not cured of her fatigue. As Hollow closed the door, purple eyes opened slowly and looked at Hollow from a sideways perspective. Her body at that moment seemed significantly more relaxed, and overall better in appearance than it had before Kail's visit.
She too felt like more dicussion needed to be had, but at the same time took full advantage of the peaceful time before those conversations would take place.
Jewel looked at Hollow in a studious fashion, trying to read his expression (which wasn't easy since she saw him sideways). Before he climbed into the other bunk, the pegasus spoke softly, gently, "Hollow.."
"What's on your mind?"

Her green hoofs clicking as she walked across the old worn boards of the inner part of the ship, Kailani made her way back to the room where Razz was laying. They had laid him on the table and she pulled up a seat to sit beside him, hoof holding his in hopes he would wake at the touch.
Laying her other arm down across the table, Kail lowered her head onto it and sat starring into his white, pink, and green mane. Her talk with Jewel and Hollow had been good to break the ice between them, but she could still feel many unresolved issues weighing her down. She understood where Jewel and Hollow were coming from, but it seemed they still did not understand her. When they got to Course (assuming that is where they ended up) she would make sure they understood not to go after her if she got herself in such a situation. She would also try harder not to put herself in the path of such situations. Somehow, though, fate always found the little healer trying her hardest to stay alive... even before she was born.
"Someday, Razzaroo," she whispered sleepily to his mane, "there won't be anymore missions, anymore Champions, anymore worlds to save over and over. Someday it will be just you and me and the nursery."
Closing her eyes she squeezed his hoof, "come back to me Razz. You promised you would never leave me alone for very long."

"Hollow.. What's on your mind?"
Hollow paused on his way to his bunk, and looked over to Jewel. Her soft voice soothed him, somehow. He smiled a little to her, though there was no real joy on his face.
"I... I cannot help but think I may yet turn out more of a hindrance to the Rainbow than a help." His ears were drooped just slightly.

"I... I cannot help but think I may yet turn out more of a hindrance to the Rainbow than a help."
Jewel listened patiently, inwardly pleased that Hollow felt secure enough in her to express his feelings.
"No, no, Hollow.." the pegasus sat up slightly so that her head was raised. With no further explanation, she patted the bed with a golden hoof, beckoning him to come talk to her. Tired though she was, she knew neither of them would rest well with such heavy thoughts on their shoulders.

Hollow hesitated a moment, looking at Jewel. Some part of him wanted to say it wasn't proper, but the other part of her laughed at that part. Not proper? And how proper had it been to nuzzle her the way he had after she'd come back from the adventure?
Looking rather sheepish, Hollow approached the pegasus. He wouldn't get on the bed with her, though, but sat on the floor instead, resting his head on the mattress near her hooves.
"Well, what good is my power, if I don't even use it?" he asked a little fretfully. "I never thought myself such a fool to let my... errr, my..." He realised he'd cornered himself and smiled a bit, trying to steer himself clear off the rocks of slip-of-the-tongue. "My concentration on the mission get blurred."
